Hi! I'm a member of F1 Fanatic (please don't lynch me), and over the last few weeks I've been running a poll on the forums to find the top 10 drivers of the 21st Century. So far about 30 people have voted, but I thought it'd be a good idea to bring it over here as well, to add to it.

All you need to do is rank who you think have been the best 10 drivers of this century. Make sure you NUMBER your nominations! I'm taking care of collecting all the votes, and periodically I'll post the current standings (P.S. Schumacher is on top at the moment).

A couple of notes: Firstly, if you happen to be a member of Formula1.net as well as F1F, and you've already voted at the latter, please don't vote here as well- all the votes are collected from both forums and merged. Secondly, I'd encourage you not to change your votes once you've posted, but if you really do want to make a new post (don't edit your original), and clearly state that it's a re-vote.

Here's my personal list:

01) Michael Schumacher
02) Mika Hakkinen
03) Sebastian Vettel
04) Fernando Alonso
05) Lewis Hamilton
06) Kimi Raikkonen
07) Juan Pablo Montoya
08) Rubens Barrichello
09) David Coulthard
10) Jaque Villeneuve

There seems to be a few drivers who were good in the 20th century that appear on your list. While they raced in the 21st they didn't really shine in it as much. I'm referring to Hakkinen and Villeneuve. I would put Alonso at number 2, he is a 2 time world champion....okay I'll start a list then

1. Schuey
2. Alonso
3. Hamilton
4. Vettel
5. Raikkonen
6. Button
7. Barrichello
8. Hakkinen
9. Coulthard
10. Massa

Shumi
Fernando
Vettel
Hamilton
Raikkonen
Rubens
Jenson
Hakkinen
Felipe
Webber

There's not really ten drivers that deserve to be put into a list purporting to be the "best of" for a century. I'd probably say top 3 or 4 max.

Surprised that people have rated Raikkonen so low.

01) Schumacher
02) Alonso
03) Raikkonen

As above, Hakkinen and Villeneuve are really the stars of the 20th Century, not the 21st, so it's a bit unfair to put them on the list. But yeah, I think Raikkonen is a lot better than people give him credit for in this, it seems. When he can be bothered, the guy is class of the field. Definitely the outright fastest driver during his time in the sport, very good race-craft and should have been champion three times, not one.

Edit: Actually, ignore that. I'm only happy with the first three positions on there. :hehe:

Robert, I'd really appreciate it if you were able to rank them in order, else I can't do anything with your vote and it won't be counted.

I always think of certain drivers in a specific category, i.e. put them in any damn car and how will they fare. My list below is just my personal list of "stick them in any car, and they will shine".

In no particular order:

Schuey
Alonso
Lewey
Kubica
Rosberg
Vettel
Kimi

That's where my list ends, there may be a few sprinkled here and there, but the eight I listed just have that special something. And I'm not even a fan of half of them, so very impartial!

Odd how lots of you include Button but not Webber.

My list mostly consisted of World Champions and drivers who finished as runner up. Clearly these drivers held their nerve and were able to deliver. Unfortunately for Mark, and I am a fan of his, but he has failed to do this by finishing 4th and 3rd in 2009/10. Hopefully he can change this next year and then I will easily elevate him. Button went through a similar experience to Mark by having his lead brought down in 2009 but managed to hold his nerve and win a championship.

As for Raikkonen, yeah he's quick but the fact that he doesn't care just doesn't make sense. This is Formula One, the greatest driver in the world is the title given for winning this. Theres no other formula of motorsport higher than this until aliens come down and we whoop their arse in Intergalactic Pod Racing (Go Annikan Skywalker :hehe: ) But having said that he seemed to give up on caring after he won, similar to Hakkinen after he won twice. Before that he tried really hard and was quick. But Hamilton and Vettel did it much quicker than him and Alonso won two and Schuey won 5 (the other 2 were in 20th century). So they are higher than him, well done to them.

Mine are as follows:-
1. Hamilton
2. Montoya
3. Schumacher
4. Kubica
5. Vettel
6. Raikkonen
7. Button
8. Alonso
9. Massa
10. Webber

Sorry I had to miss out Hakinnen, but he di only race two seasons in the 21st centuary. Also sorry had to miss Kobi, once again, not yet raced enough.

I think that only Schumacher and Alonso deserve being placed in that list. Some others could deserve it in a future.

I think 8 drivers more could be placed in this list since it is a TOP 10. :D
