I just read this Daily Mail article on Lewis Hamilton's recent tweets.

I'm posting the link because it's news, but, I also want to be the first to go on record that I again think this is an other media beat up that is blowing a small mistake out of all proportions.

To Lewis's credit he has deleted what everyone got upset about and apologized.

As I've said in another thread, I'd rather see these guys show us their human side (in what I consider small things like this) than have them perform like "PR-robots".

Did he offend you Spanky? You're one of his haters

Lewis tweeted "To those of you who care thanks for your support, to all you haters... I just don't give a fock"

He seems to write in kiddy gangster talk he should improve his grammar :hehe:

I'm a lover not a hater - you know that. And, I'm glad to see that you're not as harsh in your judgment of this driver :)

One phrase springs to mind... "A storm in a teacup" - is news so slow that this makes the headlines?

Ah, thanks for reminding me it's the start of the Ashes... not a great start of England :( Hopefully they can bowl better than they have batted!

I think it must be a diversion by the op because of the heat Fernando is getting! Wow Lewis said the F word on twitter... My lord what a bad man!

Daily mail must be desperate for news even by their standards!!

Pretty sound mindframe for dealing with irrarional hate I'd say Lewis.

Don't like his writing style? Dont read it.

I follow Lewis on twitter and I saw these tweets at the time. I laughed, to be honest. But I'm sure he has young followers, so he was right to delete it.

The language thing shows that Lewis is one of humanity's natural chameleons. In the F1 world he speaks as he is expected to speak there, when on twitter with his gaming mates, he talks like them. I don't think he has yet realised quite how public twitter is. Until then, it's interesting to see a slightly less guarded and PR-cleansed Lewis Hamilton.

lol someone sent me a link saying that, that account was Lewis, I looked at it and that was his last tweet so I thought it was someone pulling my leg, so did not subscribe.

It's definitely him - the official mclaren feed has also referred to him.

Imagine if Alonso had said it.

We would expect things like:
"He is such a bad sportsman"
"Cant take criticism"

The worst is too see people defending Lewis for saying that. There are kids on twitter as well. We dont need them running around telling adults to "F*ck off"

Also, he sounds like a 14 year old. Nothing like a multimillionaire driving for one of the most sophisticated and professional teams.

I bet daddy Whitmarsh had a word with him after that :hehe:
