This is very important because local politicians here in Austin, Texas do not realize how significant of a following F1 truly has. So please show them by signing the petition.

It says "I support Formula 1 Austin" in 9 different languages so send it to every F1 fan you can think of please!

http://www.petitiononline.com/f1austin/petition.html

EMAIL LOCAL POLITICIANS TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT. THIS IS AS REAL AS IT GETS LADIES AND GENTS. THEY ARE READING YOUR EMAILS!!

I was told this evening by Austin F1 Staff, "...local government is being crippled by emails from support for F1." Keep up the great work!! We need these emails ASAP because the 18th at 10am is less than 48 hrs away!!

Dear Mayor and Council members,

As a strong advocate for bringing Formula 1 racing to Austin, Texas, I urge you to approve items #2 and #3 on the agenda for November 18 related to a service extension request and development reimbursement for water and wastewater improvements for the region that includes the United States Grand Prix site. City staff and the Water and Wastewater Commission have recommended these items. And these items are consistent with past requests made throughout Austin’s ETJ. Additionally, the Environmental Board and Zoning and Platting Commission have recommended variances related to this project.

The Formula 1 project will serve as a catalyst for improvements in the City of Austin’s Desired Development Zone and SH 130 corridor that have long been needed.

Supporting these items will bring this project a step further to becoming a reality. I am eager for the arrival of Formula 1 in Austin, Texas, and urge you to support these matters.

Sincerely,

Supporter of the Formula 1 United States Grand PrixTM in Austin, Texas

Dear Zoning and Platting Commissioners:

As a strong advocate for bringing Formula 1 racing to Austin, Texas, I urge you to approve item #4 on the agenda for November 16, the cut and fill variance along with the slope variance for the United States Grand Prix site. City staff and the Environmental Board have recommended these two variances for the project. And the variance requests are consistent with past requests made throughout Austin. In addition, this project will serve as a catalyst in the City of Austin’s Desired Development Zone that has long been needed.

Supporting these variances will bring this project a step further to becoming a reality. I am eager for the arrival of Formula 1 in Austin, Texas, and urge you to support these matters.

Sincerely,

Kind of depressing that I was only the 14th signature... did this just start today?

I'm guessing it started yesterday; given the post date of the original post!!!

What amazes me more is that all this wasn't taken care of before Bernie awarded Austin a race in the first place

Should have had the race in Kansas; you could build it here without anyone even noticing... "Children of the Corn GP" ;)

With a whole seven inches of altitude change on the track!

I signed it, to help those that really really want to see a race there. I would care a lot if I lived there. I feel that way about our Canadian race, even though it's 6 hours away and too expensive to attend. As for any other races, I can only see them on TV so in one sense I don't care where they are. But it's better for the sport and its TV fans when a given race is in a place where the people are interested, rather than a place like Abu Dabi with, instead of fans, people who can afford to host it and use it as a commercial tool.

Thanks for helping out the Austin circuit! Even though Bernie signed off on it and it's supported by Texas Government, we still have to deal with some folks who don't agree with it. The more support we have drowns out the belly aching from the pukers. If you support F1 in Austin, join us on Facebook and Linkedin.com "Friends of Formula 1 Austin Texas".
