Awesome times by Ricciardo, another Aussie who's blindingly quick. He has stated he is ready for F1, I guess the question now is which team does he go to. I don't think the current Toro Rosso line up is working, actually I don't think Toro Rosso is working at all since Vettel, Berger and the Newey design left the team. But will they give one of the Toro Rosso guys the boot or put him in another team like Virgin to learn the ropes.

Personally I think Buemi has a bit of egg on his face. He stated at the start of 2010 that he will pretty much have Mark Webber kicked out of Red Bull by his performance this year. Sorry mate, I think Mark proved he is a fighter and can win and be consistent whereas Buemi has only gone backwards since he came into F1 and showed initial potential. Yeah he has more experience than Algusauri but experience is only good as long as it makes the car perform better and in the last two years Toro Rosso keeps going backwards so whats the point.

Also, well done to Maldonado, very impressive times in a HRT. Is Hulkenberg going to be the next Magnussen? I certainly hope not but he does seem a bit lazy and for some reason I see similarities to Montoya. Not in terms of temper off the track but he is kind of chunky, aggressive on the track only when he's towards the front and kind of chunky. :D:D Maybe he will be Dario's teammate in the future at Chip Ganassi. Wouldn't be the first future World Champion to find out he has no future. But I kind of hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I'm not.

Ok - on this note, let's see what Maldonado can do in the Williams tomorrow. Maybe Frank Williams could be making a good decision to hire this guy next year, if that is his decision. While it is sad that Hulkenberg cannot stay, I'm sure he will get a seat.

But Ricciardo MUST get a seat in Formula One this year. He is ready. In my opinion he was ready this year. Buemi will have to move over. I think it could still be a bit difficult to oust Buemi though. He hasn't exactly been terrible. He's finished regularly. Maybe Torro Rosso will have to do a HRT and start rotating drivers. This will put both drivers under pressure.

Quite clearly Mateschitz has selected some very good talent. Maybe 4 race seats is not enough. Maybe they should buy out the HRT Team. Call it Rot Stier Jugend Team. (Red Bull Junior Team) They could put Berger in as Team Principal and afford payments to Toyota for their chassis. :wavey:

And those seats can be constantly rotated. Maybe other teams would follow suit. Maybe Todt and Ecclestone would see it as a good team and allow for more teams slots would be granted to the field... :P:wavey:

Ok... back to reality. :(

By the same token, D'Ambrosio beat the best Virgin time by 0.5 or something... Timo Glock is definitely no slouch by any stretch and D'Ambrosio has been unspectacular in lower formulae - suggests to me that the track has definitely ramped up a fair bit.

Yes...I was seeing that too....but, why didnt other young drivers improve their teamates' laps in 0.5 or more too?

Fuel loads... or total lack of ability? :P I can't believe Bianchi is THAT slow, for example...

Yes, also when it comes to testing I think some teams do some illegal things to their cars to make them go faster so they are attractive to sponsors. This is generally in the area of weight and making the car as light as possible. I think the guilty ones at the start of 2010 were Sauber when they were setting the fastest times at testing but as soon as the first came they were midfield.

Its what I would do if I was trying to make my slow team attractive to sponsors or to a driver who may bring big cash. Make him faster then anyone else so he thinks he's tremendous. Maybe HRT did a similar thing to Maldonado but I think he's already signed to Williams so I would see no point to that.
