I got the list from Autosport and it doesn't go into more detail about those guys, but i think they're the Italian F3 guys, so Ferrari will maybe run them however they have done with the others in previous years..

So when will it start? :wavey:

This is Ricciardo's moment to get a drive next year. I'm so very excited.

http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-news-sport/ricciardo-feels-heat-in-f1-testing-20101116-17v14.html

Young Australian Daniel Ricciardo admits he's under pressure to be fastest as he drives the world championship-winning car at a big Formula One test in Abu Dhabi.

The 21-year-old from Perth heads a field of 22 potential grand prix drivers from 14 countries being tested over two days at the Yas Marina circuit where German Sebastian Vettel won the F1 world title on Sunday night.

Ricciardo topped the last such test in Spain almost a year ago.

The winner of 24 races in Europe below F1 level in the past three seasons, he is the official test driver for F1's Red Bull Racing team, which has Vettel and Australian Mark Webber contracted again next year.

That pair scored nine GP victories, 15 pole positions and finished first and third in the world championship in the RB6 car Ricciardo was driving on Monday and Tuesday.

"There is pressure on me to be fastest," Ricciardo said.

"Everyone knows it's the fastest car out there nine times out of 10."

Ricciardo was Red Bull Racing's sole driver at the test, while smaller sister team Toro Rosso - the former Minardi - trialed young Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne.

Ferrari was trying try four drivers - three Europeans and a Brazilian.

The test marks the last time Bridgestone tyres will be used in F1, with Italian manufacturer Pirelli the sports new supplier from next season.

Ricciardo's racing program for next year is expected to be finalised soon.

I think Mateschitz will be watching very closely - he had the say in Bourdais' dismissal last year. He could soon be making a call to Torro Rosso to get this boy in a seat ASAP.

It's interesting that the Herald makes mention that a driver needs 300 hours behind the wheel of an F1 car in order to get their super-license. Surely that's not correct is it?

I'm Ricciardo will get his 300 hours. Hopefully he puts in times close to Vettel's qualifying pace. And then Mateschitz will have to make a call.

i see that on autosport this morning that daniel ricciardio was fastest for red bull, with a lap time of 1:40.8, pretty impressive when the next lap time was a 1:42, i know its not totally significant but still good lap mate :hehe: !

I think it's 300km, not hours.

His fastest lap was a 1:39.616 - quarter of a second off pole. Not a bad effort even though the track is more grippy now than it was!

Maldonaldo set a time 1.2s faster than either HRT could manage in qualifying too... :yikes:

This is so impressive by Daniel Ricciardo. That time would have put him 3rd in last Saturday's qualifying, and, significantly ahead of Mark. Although there is a lot more rubber down now. But, he is not a regular driver, so, for me this is an incredible drive and shows he is a genuine prospect. I really hope LDM has been paying close attention to me on this :D

Makes this article about him being replaced as RB's backup driver for 2011 by Vergne very hard to believe.

Unless of course he already has a drive ..... Torro Rosso perhaps?

Hmm. I'm not really sure how to take that.

Looks like Maldonaldo's pace might have atually been faster than HRT's drivers even with a gripper track,

Beat Binachi though, but he said today they didn't pay any attention to performance.
