Remember all that time ago, we were guessing before Abu Dhabi, would Lewis destroy Jenson? A big 4 of teams fighting for the championship? How would Ferrari respond to a terrible 09, would Alonso live up to expectations? And of course that German bloke returning to the sport :P

I (and probably only me) thought it'd be interesting to compare how our predictions turned out.

I'll post mine later, just gotta kickstart my memory.

It was better than I could have hoped for, at the beginning of the year, and almost all the months thereafter. Huge expectations for Abu Dhabi with 4 contenders for the driver's championship followed shortly by disappointment. Some blame the track, but I think I was really hoping for some wheel-to-wheel action by Alonso and the McLaren drivers and it never happened. (Thanks to Petrov, and dismally stupid Ferrari strategists). Not disappointed by Vettel's win - I think it was well deserved.

The 2010 F1 Season was a memorable one, for all the right reasons.

RBR turned out to be the most "honest" and entertaining and ultimately successful team among the stables. I didn't expect that, and they really are a breath of fresh air. Christian Horner is a saint compared to the likes of Stefano Domenicali, Martin Whitmarsh, Briatore, Ron Dennis, etc.

I think Shumacher disapointed me, but I probably expected too much.

Renault impressed me, I thought they'd be in turmoil.

Force India on the money with my expectations.

Mclaren - about expected I'd say, Jenson performing better than I thought.

Ferrari - Massa underperformed, Alonso made a lot of mistakes early in the season, but overall a good exiciting season for them. I expected too much probably, maybe I'll get it next year.

Redbull, impressive with the pace of their car, otherwise in line with my initial thoughts.

It turned out bloody brilliant! Not the exact result I was hoping for at the start, but damn good nevertheless!

I expected Jenson to be smashed by Lewis, but he was only half-smashed. So well done to Jenson on that.

Schumacher MUST improve next year, I think he was way below everyone's expectations this year.

Expected the fight this year to be between McLaren and Ferrari again, instead the Jokers of the grid came out firing from Day 1 and made one hell of a show the whole season...and cause heartbreak for the WDC leader before the last race ended. :hehe:

Red Bull I expected to be strong.

McLaren I expected to have performed better

Ferrari I expected to be around about where they were

Mercedes/Brawn I expected them to be where they were also. No Honda money during the season to develop the 09 car alongside the 10 car. 2011 might be better for them.

Renault performed above expectations from where I thought they would be.

More interesting as I initially thought but only thanks to various mistakes from different teams, engine failures, etc.

As in the overtakings section it was even more boring than I thought.

F1 really needs to be changed. F1 cars need to be able to follow each other closely on curves, AERO grip should be eliminated once and for all, or at least dimished to a point where cars don't depend so much on clean air as now.

i really expected Mclaren to be able to develop faster especially after seing the level of data collection during testing.

IR cameras in the wing mirrors and birdge cages strapped to the car.

this was all designed to get accurate data to calibrate the CFD systems and yet out of the top 3 they were all lagging behind.

Surprised also at Lewis getting it wrong so many times with overtaking manoeuvres.

I was also shocked to see Massa so far behind Alonso.

I didn't think Red Bull would have such dominating pace, although i thought they'd have the quickest car.

Schumacher fell well below expectation, i thought he'd at least get some podiums. Rosberg was basically the opposite to this.

I didn't expect McLaren would 'fall away' at times like they did - for me, they perhaps miss De la Rosa's testing input to an extent...

Kubica was a total revelation in what was essentially the 5th fastest car. He wasn't too far off Massa in the title rankings ffs!

Chandhok did very well. I expected him to be another total failure who should never have been on the grid anyway.

I thought schumacher wouldnt be challenging for the title, mercedes was based on brawn and the brawn wasnt anywhere in the end of 2010 so why would it be for 2011, w was right on that one.

Thought Red Bull had an ok year 2009 and didnt think theyd be anywhere in 2010, majorly wrong there.

Thought Hamilton would win the title, wrong.

Thought Kobayashi would be as good as his 2009 races ( i openly boast on this one cause many thought it was flukey) , right on that one

Thought Hulkenburg would be best rookie. Wrong.

Did think the season would be a bore after bahrain, wrong.

Thought Jenson would keep in touch win Lewis, proudly right on that one.

Thought Massa would keep in touch with Alonso, wrong.
