Today we saw Mark Webber be let through politely by Alguersuari, who then easily kept Massa behind. We never saw a situation that would have allowed other cooperation to come to light. The BBC commentators did say that Renault might prefer to have a Renault engined car win the championship, but we didn't see any Renault cars letting anyone through, and hence that's merely supposition. But, I have no doubt that Alguersuari let Mark Webber through.

My question is to what extent we have inter-team orders in F1, and what effect this has on the racing.

With Red Bull having four cars on the track, owning two teams, this does give them an advantage. And as we saw today, when one team is in the midfield, that does open up various possible scenarios, particularly on tracks where overtaking is difficult.

So, how much of it is going on, do you all think?

Isnt Renault a "works" team? Meaning they are independent of Renault car company?

Technically yes; but Renault (the car company) still have a decent share in the Renault team, I don't think there was any inter-team-orders; Renault are out to score as many points as possible for the constructors championship and the money that comes from those points for next year!

There is pride too for a Renault powered car to win the WDC and WCC. Let's say Renault were proud of Vitaly today. It's both the Renaults today which gave the WDC to Vettel!

I personally don't think the works Renault cars would have moved over. But, I did note the comments of the BBC commentary team.

But, I don't think there's any doubt that Alguersuari moved over to let Webber through. Hence, there is at least some cooperation between the Red Bull and Torro Rosso teams.

 My thoughts exactly but no bad feelings about it.

No orders for me because they would be impossible to subtly implement, but i reckon it goes without saying that some teams will have a certain 'understanding' in some key moments. However, i absolutely think that any teamwork by STR and Red Bull (that may or may not exist) had NO effect on the title outcome yesterday. I don't actually think that Alguesuari just let Webber through no questions asked either.

Tough stuff, but that's sports.
Jaime let Webber past and made life difficult for Massa, very obvious. Not so obvious was the Renault lockdown.... but in a time when Petrov was desperate for some recognition, he gave all he could. I dont think he would have been so hard on a Red Bull, but there's no way to prove anything.

To be WDC Fernando would have had to deal with Petrov, Kubica AND Rosberg. The title was lost on the weird pit strategy; not because of a possible inter-team order........
