As far as thread title goes....Head to head scores for Qual/Race finishes for season anyone? Put them up in big bold letters please...to make it loud and clear. Lewis has just thrashed the defending World Champion of 2010 in equal machinery. :drink:

But you also have to say that Lewis had the advantage being established within the team; Jenson is the new boy; next year will be the really the acid test IMO!

I'll' take that bet! I don't know who will come out on top but I predict it'll be closer next season, Jenson didn't so too bad this season, he certainly wasn't blown away by Lewis!

I have to admit Jenson was closer to Lewis than I expected, most definitely!

But I just can't see Lewis losing to any teammate in F1! :D Bet is on...

Exactly my thoughts, I didn't expect Jenson to be that close but at the same time I can't see Lewis losing to another driver with the same car. I actually believe that next year the gap will be even bigger, my gut just tells that

Ignoring qualifying; Jenson's race performances have been good for the most part, some glaring exceptions of course! I think that Jenson has done spectacularly well; he retired from the Monaco GP because a mechanic left a bung in the radiator which caused his car to expire and Vettel taking him out in Spa, that's more than 30 points lost due to no fault of his own, Lewis has had his fair share of failures but also made bad mistakes losing out of big points!

Abu dahbi reinforces my point. Lewis has nothing to learn from Jenson Button. He already knows when to turn down the wick, why do people want to give the man weaknesses? Every year it's a new weakness  I just don't get it...

Wow,..I mean, thank God Vettel won the WDC over Webber; shows that speed always wins in the end. All you "hold station" fans need to get real.

Sigh, you mean where Lewis said his right front was it? Went off and he wanted another pit stop.

Where Jenson went the longest out of anyone I think on the softer tyres?

I wouldnt start speaking too soon, Lewis did quite well and had some big mechanical failures but he wasnt that far ahead of button.

But the main thing is for f1 2011 the pirelli tires will not be as long lasting as the bridgestones

which may play to jensons buttons style

How do we know that to be factual Gaz? Please correct me if I'm wrong but if I'm not mistaken Pirelli only just had their first test session and if anyone knows how to build a long lasting tire imho it is Pirelli hence Bergers 1986 win at the Mexican GP where he went the entire race on one sets of Pirelli 'hards'. Pirelli has a huge amount of F1 experience and data to fall back on so lets not forget that or start making judgements too soon  .

tex

ps,
You will also hopefully notice/realize that the Benetton B186 had around 1000hp in race trim and twice the downforce we have now, who's says Pirelli cannot build a tough tire? The main concern imo is their other compounds and how they compare or 'season'.

The Jenson fanboys and girls can make all the pathetic excuses they want, jenson was whip well and good by a better faster driver just like Webber.

Next year will be no different.

He flat spotted it trying to overtake Kubica then he nursed it back to health.

Anybody can do 35 laps on the softs. Big deal, should we give him a medal for it? Button ended up right back where he started - behind Hamilton.
