I think the only way he will be beaten now is when he is sleeping in bed and you use a stick

I don't think Alonso will be able to catch Vettel and Hamilton. Even if he does, Hamilton is his worst nightmare of a driver to try to pass, so he likely will bide his time in P3.

When (not if) Webber passes Button, Alonso will have to defend his P3 from him. That should lead to some drama.

Webber to go very deep into Turn 1 and happen to get in Alonso's way? Either that or engine

I doubt it, Webber going deep would just pull him out of the racing line very quickly, he'd lose positions IMO.

All Alonso has to do is hold station. Or as he'd say: Consistency, pick up the podiums.

Alonso did his lap on cold tyres and judging from the onboard, it was far from a perfect lap. I think he has enough to keep up with Vettel and Hamilton.

As for Hamilton being his worst nightmare of a driver to pass, well in the last 2 races Hamilton made it pretty easy for Alonso!

I think it is, an if. Webber's starts havn't been brilliant recently, in fact i think the last time he gained a place off the start was at Silverstone! After that, he's stayed the same position or lost places at the start. I think a big fear for Webber is that he could end up being stuck behind Massa.

He might not win this battle but he has won the 2010 war IMHO

Your right Lewis and Seb will scamper away and hopefully not take each other out. Could we see a Scumi and hill/jv type or incident?

No need for the name calling. It's very childish.

I believe he started on pole only once Since Silverstone (that was at Spa), and he made a complete mess of the start. All the other races, he had the potential to gain or lose positions off the start, and in most cases he lost positions.

I don't think the circumstances are there for that type of incident to occur. Say if Alonso takes out Webber (along with himself), then Vettel/Hamilton would probably go on to win the title.

i calked you a donut in jest for christs sake, must be german with that sense of humour

your logic is astounding....ly weird, if webbers second you expect him to keep taking vettel every race start, i dont. by your logic starting from pole all season and in one of them races losing a place gives you a negative start position/posirions gained ratio, i agree his race starts are poor, you just backed up that statement with misleading information.

Like i said no need for name calling. Go to the 606 forums for that.

I never said i expected Webber to take Vettel at EVERY race start. Your example is a strawman - Webber only started on pole once since Silverstone, and he made a complete mess of the start there.

I said his starts were poor, and i backed it up with information about his race starts in recent months (where he has not once gained a position at the start, despite having the potential to on most occasions).

argh!!! you make no sense, stop being a drama queen i didnt call you anything anyone else wouldve taken to heart.
secondly ive already told, explained and covered why your information is misleading so go and please read my post. its pretty hard to constantly gain places when your always starting first and second, his only option is ro keep places or lose them, so to use that as evidence to support the claim that his starts are poor is misrepresentative.

If everything goes as it use too, meaning noone pushes him out, or mechanical problems, Alonso won't be beaten for 2010, or that I wish.

But let's see, you never know in F1! :wavey:

I make perfect sense.

I've already explained that faults in your explanation, so please read my post. I've never said Webber should be CONSTANTLY gaining places at the start, just that he's never gained a place for the last 7 or so races, and in the majority of cases he's ended up losing places. You do realise that when you start from 2nd you can gain a place, aswell as lose some places. Your point is valid about starting from pole, but that has only ever happened once for Webber in the time period i am considering.
