Well this is a bitter-sweet qualifying session for me. For starters the situation at Red Bull will reverse, and now Webber will have to support Vettel winning the title. He needs to get in front of Alonso as early as possible. Will Webber actually go out of his way to support Vettel?

It's fantastic for me to see Vettel at the front. He deserves it. He deserves this title more than anyone else on the grid. Unfortunately, it looks like Alonso will win the WDC. But Vettel has done everything he could, and he has been an absolute team player.

But Webber - that kills all my hopes.

BTW - it looks Alonso will start on the front row, because I'm certain Hamilton will get a penalty. And what is the go with having an Italian in the stewards? :banghead: To make it more dodgy, he's a no-name, and has the most important race of the season. Something stinks.... :nono:

So its somehow a given now that only alonso can win it and yet youve just seen a redbull qualidy 5th, there are a few twists to come tomorrow kids dont you worry...

all im trying to remind you of in our advantages debate by the way, is that specifically on abu dhabi, red bulls advantage is too immense that any other advantage bar reliability is redundant. unfortunate but nonetheless the situation.

Well like i said earlier, nothing is a foregone conclusion in this seasons championship. The Ferrari's and Mclaren's were much closer to Red Bull here.

As for Hamilton's penalty, I think he should get one. He was going slow on a timed lap, Massa had every right to assume he was being given way, then they both turn in. Not good driving from Hamilton. This was reasonably avoidable on his part, so regardless of them both getting through Hamilton deserves at least a fine.

For those in doubt, imagine Hamilton was Massa and Alonso as Hamilton there, does the picture look different?

No ones said only Alonso can win it, they've said he's the most likely to.

Surely a redbull qualifying 5th makes it more likely Alonso will win it?

I was puzzled by Hamilton's actions, he left no room for Massa and then said in the radio that Massa almost took him off, that's a very stupid mistake and I really hope he gets away clean with no penalty, first to make tomorrow's race more interesting and second because in the end thankfully Massa didn't lose anything there, but as he already got reprimanded I think he might get a penalty

:banghead: i mean, in the same way people say hamilton has no chance of winning, nobody would have guessed webber would qualify fitfth, so its far from over.

I don't think Lewis will get a penalty as Massa wasn't hindered from making Q3. If it had ruined a lap and made him miss Q3 then Ferrari would have leverage.

End of the day it's a mere formality that Fernando will be champion. Starting P3 ahead of Webber is perfect for him.

And what about Vettel. The kid is a gun it's a pitty his engine blew in Korea, he would be on the verge of a much deserved title!

Lewis might get a grid penalty yet for the block on Massa in Q2 if it goes to the stewards. If Ferrari have any sense, they will make a complaint to the stewards even though Massa got into the top ten for Q3

I could not believe what I heard Lewis say "he's trying to take me off" . Lewis had slowed but did not yield the corner completely to Massa and then whines about HIS ERROR:shoot: (thats for Juliet P] .

You know better bud,
anything can happen in formula one, and usually does
.

Vettel has had some rotten luck, still no one wins the championship if they don't have the car under them.

Hamilton and Massa called to the stewards.

Vettel was amazing again. he did make some mistakes trhoughout the season, but if anybody has been able to shine this season its been him. Disregarding stuff that's happened, he's been the one CONSISTENTLY FAST.

As for the rest, i guess a little bit depends on what massa can do to pressure Webber a bit, and if Alonso can go on either have a great start and claim 2nd or just have a normal race and grab his podium... for the title!
Wow that sounds incredible: Cruise... to the title. :)

If i worked for Ferrari, Luca would have fired me around Spa.... hehe

Still some finger crossing to do, its not all over...

Whatever McLaren were struggling with they figured the car out, they look to have made the biggest performance leap of the season respective to Red Bull but it certainly is a case of too little too late, since they needed 3 races ago.

It's remarkable to see so many posts about foregone conclusions, it's F1 and anything can happen, so I'm sure none of the top drivers left in it will give up until after the checker flag drops. It's silly to say otherwise.

It was tough to see Kubica struggle today and not make Q3.
