I thought their green and yellow car this year was the most elegant design on the grid.

In a move that is certain to excite Lotus fans and followers of Formula One racing around the world, Lotus Racing have announced that their cars will run in a black and gold colour scheme from the 2011 championship onwards.

The livery change echoes the evolution of Lotus cars of the past by moving from the iconic green and yellow paint scheme of the first season to the much loved black and gold, which featured on Lotus F1 machinery throughout much of the 1970s and '80s

Apparently they are holding a contest for fans to design their livery with the black and gold colours. Should be awesome

I'm actually disappointed. Whilst the black and gold is nice, and iconic, the green and yellow is better in my opinion. :/

I think they'd be better off sticking to their current line up and focusing on continuity whilst they try to break in to the mid-field. Nobody knows if Senna is actually any good, based on the year's performance, so it would be quite a risk. With Trulli, you know what you're getting and he has worked with Gascoyne before. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Kinda with bud on this. They are moving to fast on the Iconic name, instead of focusing on development, with their head down under the radar (I guess they are a little w/renault package).

Although I can't wait to see the livery, I think they should have given the current livery another season at least..

Ok ok ok lets get real here and try to move forward. Chapman is gone and so is Warr so get over it already!! One would think that the 'supposedly iconic fans' here would appreciate the name/livery being brought back from the grave but NO all you wanna do is complain and to that I say GAFL and change your diaper !!!!

So if you bring back your Mullet and I bring back my Hi-top fade and bill cosby sweater next year.. and then we bring back Krockett and Tubbs the following year, and then we to a Neo and Morpheus after that.. We are still the same board posters that we've always been

im sure the new design will be lovely what we all moaning about"!, come on we have let lotus some glory off the track, because sadly its going to be a couple of years before they get anything on the track! sorry
