I doubt Alonso will win the title but obviously it would be extremely nice if he did. Anyway if he does win it, I hope he wins it by less than 7 points just to make everyone else look like absolute idiots for not using team orders themselves.

Then he should be crowned

Fernando Alonso 2010 F1 World Champion - With Help From Felipe Massa

Did they crown Schumacher with help from Barrichelo?
Did they crown Lewis with help from Heikki?
Will they crown Webber... with help from vettel?

I'm sure Massa wouldnt complain if they did crown Alonso like that. At least he'd have his name in a WDC trophy.

Regardless of whether a driver gets a helping hand from his team mate; he is still the driver with the most points at the end of the season. I may not be an Alonso/Ferrari fan but Alonso will be a deserving champion regardless; he has driven superbly in the second half of the year, although I hope that if he does win, it'll be by eight or more points to save all the bickering about him being an undeserved champion or a tarnished championship!

Some of you people have absolutelyno grasp of the history of the sport. Would you have the FIA annotate the entire history of the WDC to reflect that the championship has been won with the aid of a teammate?

In 1956, Juan Manuel Fangio came in to the final race of the season with enough a lead over his then second place teammate that the only way not to win WDC was to DNF.

Guess what? Fangio's car broke a steering arm. And his teammate, Englishman Peter Collins, surrendered his car, knowing that he also was surrendering a certain world driving championship.

Fangio came second in the race and won WDC. Had Collins finished the race and not lent Fangio his car, he, peter Collins, would have won WDC.

There you go Fred, bringing facts into the argument. Well, there's no room for them thar things at this forum. We'll just stick to our traditional crystal balls and chicken gizzards to sort out team orders and what not.

What you probably don't realise is, back when Peter Collins did vacate his seat to Fangio, it was done in a "discreet and secretive way" so the F1 fans of the day were fooled and therefore it was OK. In fact Peter Collins and Fangio wore the same lipstick just so the fans couldn't tell them apart.

I'm feeling just fine, thanks! Just because I didn't like Germany's team orders, it doesn't mean that I can't appreciate a good driver and his achievements since that point.

There's help, and then there's sacrifice. Which of these examples is not like the other?

At the end of the day, the champion is the one with the most points, that's the business of F1 and the fans are smart enough to know that even if they disagree with the outcome.

why isit a lot of ferrari fans are actually hoping its less then 7 points, maybe alonso fans care more about having ammunition to piss off other fans then the integrity of their titles or of course the support of their team. he is a deserving champion if he wins it or doesnt but to actually hope he wins it vy less then 7 with rhe reason being: " to see the reaxtion of so and so" is quite pitiful. Hope you lot are only saying it ro windthe mclaren lewis fanboys up, itd be quite worrying id you truly meant it!
