I couldn't watch Abu Dhabi last year. Just saw an onboard lap by Lewis Hamilton on the track to see what it's like and almost felt like sleeping after that one lap. It's like driving on a glorified parking lot.

Email Bernie about your concerns.

I'm not concerned one bit. Thank you.

WE? Youre not apart of Ferrari mate! - I guess it's something Tifosi can feel and you don't. Yes, we do feel part of the team we support. Sad for you that you don't experience that.
Here we go the typical Ferrari lamb rhetoric. You all need to get over yourselves thinking youre above other fans. Its rather annoying and you wonder why everyone hates Ferrari. I am a member of McLaren for a few years now. I have been invited to their technology centre, Toured their factory. ive eaten lunch in there with team members. But i wouldnt say WE when referring to myself and McLaren. :wavey:
]I guess youre ignoring the straights at AD? Was the question which track is "identical" to or was it looking for a comparison? IMO Singapore is the best comparison to AD, followed by Germany.

Singapore lacks the long long straights, Even Valencia isnt exact in comparison. But Germany isnt a street track so its characteristics wont be the same, although the layout might be. Korea has the long straights so that is also a fair comparison Azza.

thats cool!, i think im going to do that myself ! :hehe:

Wake up to yourself sunshine. I picked the tracks I think are most like AD - period.
And, having won 5 out of 18 races there'd be a pretty dam good chance I'd be picking tracks we did well at anyway.

I think you need to wake up to yourself... i mean WE? Youre not apart of Ferrari mate! And ok then but I guess youre ignoring the straights at AD? Something Singapore cant compare to.

You just keep saying the most idiotic things.

It's really a given that the RB6 rightfully deserve to go into the final race as favourite. It has proven to be fast everywhere. RB deserves the WCC title this year.

Now, putting my Tifosi-red glasses on do I think we have a chance - well, yes. What's more, I think there are some areas where we will have the upper-hand.

IMO the F10's biggest advantages will lie in braking. Ferrari's resurgence came in Europe. Since then we have been to Singapore, Japan, Korea and Brazil.

Lets look at heavy braking, and lets define heavy braking as cornering that requires hard braking and downshifting to 3rd gear or lower. I put Singapore at 12 such corners and Korea at 9 or 10. Conversely I give Japan 4 and Brazil 6. We also know that the RB6 (and its predecessor the RB5), whilst brilliant on D/F have problems with brakes overheating.

The F10 performs pretty well on these sorts of corners. And if that's true, the more of these sorts of corners a circuit has, the better it should suit Ferrari. You can see this by watching pretty much any race where the F10 approaches this sort of corner. A good example is to watch the start of Monza. Jenson gets away to a brilliant start and passes Fernando. Jenson has the high D/F configuration, which means he should be able to brake later, yet Fernando's F10 clearly closes in under brakes. IMO it's a strength of the F10 and perhaps a slight chink in the RB6 impressive armor.

The good news for Ferrari is, I estimate that AD has at least 12 heavy braking corners. Add to this that there are only 4 times when cars get to accelerate for 500 meters or more and it is clear that brakes will be stressed, possibly to their highest level of the year. Now add to this the very high ambient temperatures the cars and brakes will be operating in and I think this is an area that Ferrari should try to exploit.

As a Ferrari fan I'm not getting too excited about this, because there is a lot that Vettel and Webber can do to reduce this, but, it will just be that much harder in AD, and, hopefully will make for an exciting race and not a run-away win for the RB6.

That's great buddy. Though it will be much better if Alonso becomes WDC he wins it by more than 7 points. Because even a fellow driver and owner of the 2010 WCC team has publicly stated it will be shameful and makes a mockery of this years WDC as a team which has played the rules fair throughout is penalised by a team which broke the rules and paid pocket money to the FIA to keep the foul points they 'achieved'.

It's quite sad for a team to have won what they targeted for the whole year only for majority of the spectators to not respect them for the achievement. But I don't think they would care. For the spectators or even their own 'fans'. That's Ferrari for you.

lets kid ourselves that alonso or hamilton even have a chance shall we, red bull 1-2 as has been in qualifying all year long ( please dnot be a retard and point out where it hasnt been, i mean generally) webber may qualify first vettel might. Either way Alonso may still have trounble qualifying third, and if push comes to shove Vettel will move for Webber, RBR management are stupid but they aint that stupid,

I will wait till after Abu Dhabi to requote my posts pre-brazil which ask why everyones so adamant its Alonsos title to walk away with, when the points gap is so small, and the red bull have the best car. Because quite frankly the fickleness of F1 fans took a new low after korea.

Wouldnt it of been a better judged post if the red glasses were off? Although i do agree generally, those three straights wont make a difference much like korea, when red bull are so much quicker in corners. And same goes for the heavy braking zones, an advantage, but red bull has a bigger one.

Alonso's pretty conviced, and I won't argue against the man :hehe:

Seriously though, the pressure might get to one or more of the drivers, leading to an error. A car could break down. Alonso could quali third and make up second at the start. I think there have been times with Webber that he's struggled in quali? Particularly where the redbulls advantage hasn't been so great, Bahrain, Singapore and Germany spring to mind.

Failing that, Massa could just get his braking wrong. :hehe:

How many fast corners are there in Abu Dhabi? Isn't that redbulls best circuit characteristic?

Considering Red Bull weren't much faster than Ferrari in Brazil, and Abu Dhabi should be a little bit more competitive for Ferrari. I think splitting the Red Bull is very possible, nothing Alonso hasnt been and isnt able to repeat in Abu Dhabi. The question is, will he do it?

The Red Bulls are strong, and their drivers are on form. But near the end in Brazil, Alonso could have challenged Webber thanks to a little RB engine gimmick... They can both do it. But the question...... will they be able to do it?

I think things are as even as they get.
