Ah I can tell already, there will be lots to talk about for a long time after Abu Dhabi - irrespective of the outcome of the WDC :hehe:

The 'what if's' and 'could da woulda shoulda' will carry the forum over a long cold lonely winter :D .

:D

I must say I agree with RC here, though. =p

If that gives Alonso a hollow victory, so be it, good luck to Alonso if thats what he wants, and to Farrari as they seem happy to win on those terms.

Whatever  !! I'm sure if the WDC shoe was on Hamiltons foot you would be singing to the F1 gods.

You dont know me then Tex..

Yes I think I know you better than you think I do  .

Well you wouldnt have made that comment if you did because much as Id dearly love to see Lewis as world champion again, not if he had to cheat his team mate to do so. And nor I suspect would Lewis.

I guess we will just have to agree that we disagree and move on :) ?

Well Tex, on general issues up for debate I think thats an excellent conclusion to come to . However in this case, since the deabte is about what I think, then Im afraid there's only one person who knows the real answer, and thats me  I dont tell lies, so in this case Im right and you're wrong. Sorry

Alonso! What a man, impressed by him today after a disappointing qualifying. Yeah, he can't overtake and always goes to the outside 8-)

Redbull wrap up the WCC, its what they deserve,

Some bad luck for Massa, pity.

Also, Jamie was racing Alonso there after the restart! He must've thought Massa was behind him, Alonso dealt with him though, but still.

No idea what will happen for the title fight,

Wow.

This is getting stranger and stranger. That was a great race, and a great result from Alonso... and yet, its far from over.

So, somebody took a couple of guys out to school (AGAIN) today............. nailed the overtakes when needed; not only cleanly, but beautifully. BEAUTIFUL.

Other than that... the mighty Bull is strong. And to beat them, their drivers gotta make mistakes, they drove perfectly today, so nothing to do except hope for a SC, or hope for an engine to overheat or blow.

To be honest, i dont even know who drove a great race today or not. All I know is the championship is hectic.

Not really beautiful overtaking from Alonso, more clinical and clean I would say. He forced Hamilton into an error and that was that. And then forced Hulkenberg to go just a bit too defense at turn 4 and got the run on him and blocked his counter out of turn 5.

Text book stuff from Alonso. 8-)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.......... some people like ugly stuff and dinky boinky overtaking...
AND he almost pulled a psych move on Webber, if only the SC came out earlier. Piquet!! where are you!!!??!!

Absolute fantastic result last night. Well done boy, you've made so proud.

People can give him a lot of s*** but, he is still the best driver this year and I'm more convinced than ever that he will be World Champion in a week's time. :cloud9:

Alonso was wrong in saying "if Vettel wins I need to be fifth." I've done the maths over and over and Vettel will be World Champion if Alonso is fifth. Alonso needs fourth or better, and in that case Vettel will swap with Webber on his own call.

Vettel insisted before this race and after this race that he will do anything it takes to ensure a Red Bull car wins the World Championship. He has never been an arrogant prick; Webber if anything is arrogant.

I'm hoping Vettel wins the championship, but I would be satisfied if Webber wins it due to an element of patriotism. Afterwards Webber should be sacked even if he does win the championship.

Vettel is the team player - always has been. As I was saying last night on the chat rooms and I was ridiculously ridiculed for it: if Webber had have challenged for the win last night, Vettel would have given him space. The team said in Turkey that that's the team rule. Webber failed to do that in Turkey, but Vettel would do it Brazil or Abu Dhabi.

Perfect race from Vettel - he controlled the race perfectly, maybe it would have been better to swap the drivers, but I like Red Bull's philosophy - their aim is to sell energy drinks, and in sports the best man wins. I think we could see Alonso finish 5th in Abu Dhabi because the Renaults and the Mercedes are returning. However, if Alonso looks to finish higher Vettel will swap.

As I've had no sleep I don't give s*** what you guys think of my opinion on Webber. He's still in my signature below, and I'm happy for him to win the championship - but he does not deserve a team like Red Bull.

Ever tried decaf? Might help...

I was more impressed with Hulkenberg keeping Alonso and Hamilton behind him for as many laps as he did. I wouldnt say Alonso's overtake of his was special considering how long it took. And well Hamilton let him through yet again due to an error. Text book? No, Beautiful? No. Alonso yes.

not the best race ever, but well done to Red bull, on winning their first constuctors championship....and i think that webber or vettel will go onto win the drivers championship too, lewis and jenson did well but the championship for lewis is all but over...but dont worry boys you made me proud of the commitment and friendship youve created among mclaren..hopefully we'l have a faster car next year! :)

Ha! bitter salt.

It took Alonso a bit longer to overtake Hulkenberg because he had to deal with Hamilton and then Hulk. Also, because Alonso is going for the championship and had a lot to lose and the Hulk didnt.

Hamilton LET HIM THROUGH?? again with this? ha just like he let him trhough in Korea. No way. This is exactly what Alonso wanted Jenson to do Monza, but Jenson didnt make a mistake. Jenson is much more poised and that's why he never makes mistakes. Alonso has done 3 pshych moves on Lewis already (that i remember), at Q in Singapore... remember he was all over him before the flying lap... hehe that was excellent. And then the 2 last races, typical psych moves.

Then the move on Hulkenberg was simply back to basics. You dont see this often in F1 anymore as overtaking has become a bit more like how Kobayashi made all the passes in Suzuka. He made them, but they were sketchy. Not to take away from Kobayashi, but the Hulkenberg pass was just beautiful.

Will Alonso win the WDC? as amazing as he's been driving and despite him leading... it does look difficult. Splitting the Red B ulls.... not an easy task.

It was so funny when Webber pinched Alonso on the podium ceremony... Webber was prob angry at not getting the win, but he still managed the split second of witty humour/sarcasm to pinch Alonso.
