We all know Webber has a 2011 Red Bull contract. But will he retire and give it away at seasons end? Because there have been many rumors over the last few days about 2011. Maybe Webber and Red Bull will come to an agreement and release him so he can go to another team? And IF Webber wasn't at Red Bull in 2011 who would replace him? Buemi or Algeersuari? Ricciardo? Someone like Heidfeld looking for a drive?

IF Webber left, I could see Buemi or Algerusari being promoted and then Ricciardo being given the 2nd Toro Rosso seat. But the question is where would Webber go? Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes all have their 2011 lineups confirmed. Ferrari may give Massa to Renault (That might turn out to be messy) to partner Kubica and then they may get Webber there with Alonso. Or maybe Webber would head to Renault?

"Aguersuari admits Webber's seat is very appealling"

In what appears to be ‘Get Mark Webber Month’, the beleaguered Australian has come under fire from yet another different direction, with Jaime Alguersuari dropping hints that he has one eye on the current F1 2010 title contender’s Red Bull Racing cockpit for 2012.
Alguersuari presently competes for Red Bull ‘junior’ outfit Scuderia Toro Rosso, but like team-mate Sébastien Buemi, the Spaniard – who last summer became the youngest driver ever to race at the highest level, at the age of only 19 and with a noteworthy reputation as the reigning British F3 Champion – has made little secret of his desire to one day follow in the footsteps of Webber’s own team-mate Sebastian Vettel in earning promotion to the ‘senior’ operation.
What’s more, with RBR team principal Christian Horner having recently conceded that the energy drinks-backed outfit will henceforth be built around Vettel given that Webber is now in ‘the autumn of his career’ in the top flight [see separate story – click here] – and the man himself having candidly admitted that his motivation may soon dry up – the common consensus is that there will be a seat going begging in Milton Keynes at the end of 2011, when the Queanbeyan native’s new contract expires.
“I will not deny that it is very appealing,” Alguersuari told Spanish newspaper Diario Sport, when asked about the prospect of doing battle for F1 World Championship glory at Red Bull Racing. “I would rather win a title with Red Bull than with McLaren or Ferrari, because it’s the team close to my heart, people who have helped me all the way.
“There is no doubt that it is the place I want to be. For me, Red Bull and Toro Rosso are the same family; they’ve supported me since I was 15, and trusted me for their F1 programme when I had no experience.”

Ricciardo to Torro Rosso then. I think Webber will actually be fired.

Webber will be at RBR in 2011 then more than likley retire in my opinion.

It is unlikley that he will want to take a step backwards with a lesser team and it is unlikley a Ferrari/McLaren/Renault will take him due to his age - he will be 34ish in 2012

He will stay in 2011 and if he doesnt stay at red bull no other team will want to pick him up so he would just retire. But if this does happen red bull would go for a young driver.

But id like to see kimi raikkonen back :)

If Mark doesn't win the drivers championship this season I don't think he will retire voluntarily, he (as all racing drivers do) wants to win the drivers championship and has come within an inch of doing so this season. I think he will give it another go, bit his tongue and stay with RBR. you never know, over the winter there may be a huge suprise somewhere that sees vettel moving to a different constructor (Ferrari perhaps if Massa doesn't get a drive). I know this is unlikely but stranger things have happened.
I think he will give it one last go at RBR - after all, RBR are also going to want to win the constructors championship and the best way of doing that is as many 1 - 2 finishes as possible. that means BOTH cars and drivers will be developed to the best of the team's ability.

I can also see Webber staying with RBR, i don't however think Buemi or Alguersuari are capable of a top drive just yet.

The supposed bad blood between Webber and Vettel may be more reality show Red Blue F1 "drama" than anything else! RR loves to create drama and press!

All teammates are competitive and there is not much love between any of them although Vettel, like his hero Schumacher, would gladly run his mother off the track for a win!

I think Webber will probably stay at RB, but if he can get an out, Ferrari would pick him up in a NY minute!

He is still very quick in mind, ability and skill and has a few very good years left!

But what people see in Vettel as a human being, save for being an super self-important egotist, is beyond me!

I hope Webber or Alonzo win at Abu Dhabi... and Vettel finishes somewhere deep in the pack.. just for fun!

If Alonso wins the title things will boil in Red Bull I'm sure, Will Webber leave? Very hard to tell as Red Bull is one of the hottest teams now, difficult to leave the place to probably end up in an inferior car.

If Webber left it would be great to see Alguersuari climbing to Red Bull, he is certainly beating Buemi this season by a good margin, even it seems Buemi is getting really mad (see him acting really upset on TV) cause the learner is overcoming him clearly in all aspects since the last 4 races (qualifying and raw pace).

If Webber isn't in that second seat at Red Bull next year then a certain Red Bull backed WRC driver will be.

But I see Webber at Red Bull for 2011, he has been doing a great job and is a serious driver to have.

No I want Webber to be fired, or leave. And I actually think Buemi is a better replacement than Algy. Ricciardo would run rings around Algy though. He is super talented that kid.

Who do you think would sell more Red Bulls? Alguersuari or Buemi? The answer is crystal clear :hehe:

4 now. I don't know. This isn't like me. :crying:

His comments before the Brazillian GP just shitted me tbh. I'll talk about it in another thread.

What did Webber say?

All his comments about the team not supporting him and that he should be backed to win the championship. He tore into his team in front of the media this week.

My challenge to him was to qualify faster and drive better than his team mate. Vettel said before and after the Grand Prix that he's a team player, and I believe him. Webber does not deserve a team, or a car like Red Bull have given him. Maybe this is a bit rash, but his comment towards the team was unprofessional, and not what you expect from a driver who is struggling to keep up with his team mate.

Those comments could come from Alonso directed at Ferrari, and they would accept it because they'd be nothing without him. But Webber's pretty expendable and how he can be so arrogant really dumbfounds me. Does he want to be in a championship winning car next year? Or not?

Webber has done nothing to prove he's a team player all year, so he can't keep playing the victim and pretend he's not getting equal treatment. Vettel gets a bit more attention because he's a young kid who needs to be nurtured into 10-time WDC winner. Webber doesn't need a hug from Helmut. He just needs to shut the fluff up and drive a car and show his 10 years of experience. And win on merit and not words.

If Webber caught up to Vettel last night, Vettel would have given him room - just like the team expected from Webber at Turkey. (I wonder if Jensonb will write anything here - he basically labelled me an absolute idiot for saying this in the chat room last night).

I'm sorry but it's just that time of the month for me....

I'm broke and waiting for my monthly pay to come in at the end of this week.

I don't expect his bosses to be happy with that - but it's the truth, isn't it? I think it is Red Bull that hasn't done a single thing all year to show they're not favouring Vettel. The way they handled Turkey incident, the wing incident, etc, reeked of favouritism, and he resented that, you knew it already, remember the "Not bad for a Number 2 driver"? Honestly I don't expect Webber to stay at Red Bull if he wins the WDC, he's made it clear he doesn't like Red Bull anymore. I can understand you're angry, with you being a Red Bull fan, but most of it was your own team's doing, now coming back at them.

Vettel's a team player in the same way that Alonso is a team player. When you know that the team will support you over your teammate everything in the garden is rosy. If Red Bull had adopted Ferrari's tactics, Webber would be untouchable by now but they've put their weight behind the No.2 driver and are suffering the consequences of possibly losing the double.
