I disagree they don't need to pretend their fighting for the championship, their better of with focusing on winning the race, someone like Alonso will be thinking of the championship when it comes to wheel to wheel racing. Hulkenburg is better of not doing that IMO.
Bit like Force India designing a car last year thats great on low downforce, they don't need an all round car, as the glory from Spa and Monza probably worked out greater than if they spent the entire year consistent but at the lower end of the field.
Also, evening though Hulkenburg was obviously trying very hard, you can't recreate the pressure that the championship contenders are feeling.
None of that stops it being an exceptional performance today. But I wonder what will happen in the race, Hulkenburg didn't seem to cope very well with holding of Webber in Monza.
