Taken from "The Sport Review" which also contained some other interesting news tidbits: http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2010/11/f1-news-bruno-senna-tipped-to-replace-jarno-trulli-at-lotus/

Jarno Trulli has been spotted in US following rumours that he could be replaced at Lotus Racing in 2011. A number of drivers have been linked with Trulli’s seat, including Vitaly Petrov, Bruno Senna. Senna is rumoured to be in ‘well-advanced’ discussions with the leading newcomers about joining them next year.

3 questions come to my mind after this rumour.

Is this Bruno's big break?

Is this only because of the Senna name returning to Lotus, and nothing else?

What about Karun Chandhok?

Senna has done nothing in F1 this year. For the most part, he was out-performed by Chandhok. He was out-qualified by Christian Klien, a guy who hadn't raced for about five years, the first time Klien raced the car. Aside from the first time they were paired together, he's only managed to out-qualify Yamamoto by a few tenths per race. In Korea, Yamamoto finished almost a second ahead in qualifying... This is a guy who is nowhere near F1 standards.

Give me Trulli any day. Better yet, give me Chandhok. That guy looks more promising and he's a much nicer-seeming guy. Put him alongside Kovalainen at Lotus, or alongside di Resta at Force India, or Kubica at Renault. Give him his shot.

I don't think it's particularly fair to single out Senna for poor performance this year. he's in a similar boat to the one Zanardi was in with Williams in that his race engineer is not very experienced. his engineer has previously been part of the Williams test team, and then Nakajima's race engineer. Chandhok / Klein / Yamamoto's race engineer on the other hand has been in F1 for years working with a number of drivers and a variety of back-of-the-grid teams such as Super Aguri and Arrows before coming to HRT.

A new team needs experienced engineers and for HRT, Senna's simply doesn't fit the bill. I strongly suspect that as a result of pairing a rookie driver with a not far off rookie engineer (certainly no experience of developing a terrible car) Senna has potentially lost half a second a race in performance to his team-mate each race, but has been making the difference up through his own driving.

If you give him a semi decent car and a team with reasonable experience, I suspect he will outperform most of the potential team-mates he could end up with.

Even taking into account inexperienced engineers; Senna has been poor; being out-qualified by your team mate who hasn't driven in F1 for five years is unacceptable at any level; let alone F1! Bruno Senna got his break into F1 because of his famous surname, he is not ready for F1 in my opinion; even if he goes to Lotus I can't see him beating Kovalainen; Senna like Piquet is another famous name that isn't upto F1 standards, I'm not saying he can't be a great F1 driver, but he needs more time in lower formula!

Yammamoto deserves it if anyone.

don't be stupid

Yup. He deserves nothing, the guy buys his way into race seats like Pedro Diniz did back in the day. He is like a slow, less crash prone Sato. He has no future in F1 imo.

Does Senna deserve another year in F1? Ya I think so, that HRT car is total trash. We have to remember how bad Massa was back in 2002 but thankfully was given a second shot in F1.

Senna deserves a second shot in a better car imo.

Nick Heidfeld is aiming a little higher then Lotus. I think he is in the running for that second seat at Renault and or Force India.

 possibly could be aiming for second seat at one fo those two, and if he did go to renault then he would be reunited with his old mate Robert kubica from the BMW sauber days, and they had a good parternership until Bmw left the sport!

i hope to see Nick Heidfeld in F1 next yr. Given his performance in the races he's been in this yr i think he more than deserves it. Maybe he's aiming a bit high, but there's several teams which could do good use of him.
