I think Nico is better than Hamilton.

Will Hamilton react to Nico the way that Alonso reacted to Hamilton? Nico has been fighting the BMW's when his car was only good enough to fight with the Renault's. I just think Nico in the McLaren will be faster than Hamilton.

Nico's staying at Williams, he's looking forward to next year's FW30 already and his father Keke isn't keen on the idea of him going to McLaren and teaming up with Lewis. Plus Frank and Patrick won't let him go lightly either.

If you ask me, that thing from Nico sounded more like a hint he wanted to drive for McLaren.
But only time will tell.

Lewis of course to has his opinion

Right now, Alonso's replacement is anyones guess. Its hard to know exactly what McLaren are looking for, a fast rising new talent, or a consistent driver with Experience, or even somthing unexpected.

how come all the Ferrari fans here seem to think Nico a better driver - wassamater with you - it just kills you that Hammy is fast and that he aint a Ferrari driver!

Jeez if Nico does come to McLaren and he beats the arse off Kimi and Massa you'll soon turn on him too!

IMO Hamilton is a better driver than Nico, but until the both drive in the car for a season, I dont know that for absolute certain. But if Hammy can beat the best (Alonso) I think Nico will come second in the silver cars.

Oh and when I say all, I really mean the nasty ones...i know there are fair minded Ferrari fans out there.

A while back I believe Nico said he wanted to stay but it was up to the team or something along those lines.

Like you said though, time will tell. If Nico does leave though, wonder if they'll promote Kazuki, go after Alonso or Piquet Jr? Imagine the team lineup being Piquet Jr and Nakajima Jr? Their fathers both raced together for Lotus in 1988 and 1989.

My one desire is that anyone BUT Piquet gets the 2nd McLaren seat.

Wonder if Hamilton feels that way? After all he fought Piquet Jr for the GP2 title. Would there be fireworks between them as there were between Mansell and Piquet at Williams? Probably not as many as Lewis is a calmer and cooler character than Mansell was.

My Ferrari loyalty has nothing to do with wanting to see Nico in a championship potentail team. If he beat's Ferrrari or not I still support him either way cause he's got MOJO!!!! lol

The piquet family are w**kers - jr. is a highly strung little git and would be a carbon copy of Alonso. I remember his dad whining when Frank Williams refused to tell Mansell to slow down in order for Piquet to win.

Nope - Jr. would be a baaaaaaad choice.

Piquet going to Williams for 1986 has some parallels with Alonso going to McLaren for 2007, they both expected to be given number 1 status but in late 1985 long after Piquet had been signed, Mansell hit form with 2 wins in a row, and we all know the story between Hamilton and Alonso this year. Both Alonso and Piquet reacted badly to the fact Hamilton and Mansell respectively outpaced them regularly.

i know - oh and I was actually at his first win (Mansell) - but not his second cos South Africa was a dodgy place to be back then - and it is now come to think of it!
