Bernie Ecclestone also does not see F1's future in Europe with the intimation that Europe can not afford F1; to hell with what the majority of F1 fans want; chase the money trail. What a complete and utter load of BS; Bernie has no interest in what is best for F1; he's simply out to line his incredibly deep pockets even further!

IMHO, he would do well to remember something the Yanks are wont to say: You should dance with the one who brought you.

Ecclestone: Europe will more or less disappear

“Europe’s not what it was, in any shape or form. I don’t know how long I’m going to live but I think it will more or less disappear as the current force before not too long. I don’t think Europe can afford many things.”

Clearly, Bernie is one of those things Europe can't afford.

I see you listened to 5 live's chequered flag podcast too! I just finished listening to it and was rather annoyed at when Bernie said that Europe cannot support races and don't have enough money and so on. IMO I can see a time when most of the F1 drivers and circuits are Asian of which on the driver side at least I have no problem with but I guaruntee that most of the drivers will get to F1 with money and not with talent. Therefore we will see no racing.

No interest in what is best for F1? Wouldnt going to tracks where the sport earns millions of dollars more be beneficial to formula one rather than just going to European tracks which hope to get by with the skin of their teeth?

The emerging economies of the moment are in Asia, times of prosperity for the west are behind them. Bernie is adjusting Formula one accordingly.

Bernie is only going to middle east and far east countries because they are government backed and are willing to pay the extortionate rates to host a Grand Prix regardless of whether it makes a profit or not; European tracks are run as a business not an unlimited funds promotional exercise for a nation. 20 Tilke designed tracks by 2020! :(

Bernie also is saying the new teams are "cripples" and "an embarrassment".

I wonder how much of their being "crippled" and "embarrassing" stems from the FIA's limits on testing, not to mention that all the new teams were required to buy Cosworth engines, else their applications to the FIA would have been summarily rejected.

Bernie is the most embarrassing aspect of F1, long overdue for a permanent holiday from F1.
