Am I the only one who has surprised that when Webber hit the wall he didn't continue going beside the wall but turned right into track and into rosberg. It got me thinking if Rosberg never overtook Lewis, who would've gone out with Webber?

"Webber ..... turned right into track"
Not even in the realms of possibility from what I saw. After the initial impact I suspect Webber was pretty much a passenger.

I said the same thing a couple of pages back! The sport is full of IFs.

Although I was worried something might happen to Alonso next and didn't want Hamilton to win. I was also thinking that Hamilton might of began pressuring Alonso, although it thankfully turned out that Alonso pulled away from Hamilton

:bs: He didn't pull away from him, Lewis let him go. Hammy's tyres were shot to pieces and he just wanted to nurse the car home in 2nd position.

For crying out f**ken loud. I really do not care how and why Alonso pulled away and how I worded that. My point was that once Alonso had gotten a gap from Hamilton and I knew Hamilton "had decided" not to challenge Alonso, that I was able to relax a little. That was my point. Weather Hamilton let Alonso go or not, I really couldn't care less as that was not the point I was trying to make.

Whaaaarrrgarrbllllll! My DVR-recorded race stopped recording at 2:35 (of course the DVR bases its recording on the schedule sent by the channel).

I hope I can watch it during the week...I'm a sad puppy. :crying:

Congrats to Alonso for keeping his head cool and apparently driving an awesome race, and Lewis, my boy, for showing he still has what makes a champion.

So I read Sutil turned the race into a demolition derby? :hehe:

Download it via you know what. That's what I am doing as I will like to keep this one as part of my F1 collection. By the way you can even get the Spanish commentry/broadcast one. That is the one I am downloading anyway.

Mad max said Alonso didn't pull away. . . its one thing to say Lewis let him go so Alonso pulled away but pull away he did. I think that was what AKR was referring to, that Alonso wasn't under pressure than Lewis.

That is precisily what I was trying to say. And because Alonso had no pressure from Lewis I was able to relax a little myself, although I don't knoe if you can call pacing up and down in the room for the last 8 laps relaxing.

Alonso was coasting when Lewis was gaining on him, he was looking after his tyres. And Lewis in catching him burned his out which is why Fernando was able to still put in solid laps at the end. Good drive from Fernando.

I agree, he deserved that win, not only for his qualifying but for making the most out of his good fortune. Which is where championships are won. He deserves even more credit for struggling through most of the year with a car inferior to the Red Bulls.

Nothing to do for Lewis. Actually considering how big of a struggle Jenson had, and the fact that Jenson is not bad in the wet, i'd say Lewis drive was excellent and the Mclaren wasnt up to speed with Ferrari, also because Fernando was able to maintain his tires while pressing Vettel and didnt make any mistakes. Really, there was nothing better for Lewis to do even if he did try and push to catch Fernando near the end... it could have been worse and silly had he tried anything.

Might have just been my imagination, but it did look like Alonso was managing his tyres differently behind the safety car, seemed to do much less of that weaving stuff then those around him. Ferrari had upgrades that were designed to bring heat into the tyres much quicker, looks like they worked a peach.

yeah interesting
Not only that, but he was ussualy going for the wet side. Maybe he was looking to keep his tires cool instead of wearing them out trying to warm them....
