I'm just being a doomsdayer, but frankly with all the talk in the media today that Christian Horner "refuses to back Webber over Vettel" and "Vettel can still win the crown" and "the team is aligned around Vettel"...etc..etc...etc.....

Surely Webber will look for alternative pastures if that is actually the case. Nobody (OK..bar Eddie Irvine and Rubens) would stick around in that culture.

All the Red Bull are actually communicating in their messages right now is that they prefer Vettel over Webber....which is not a great situation is it?

Is that Renault seat still available?

And to add to this.....if Vettel had of won yesterday and was now leading by 11 points over Webber (with Alonso 7 points behind)....then Webber would be under strict instructions to support Vettel....of that I am sure.

But my point is that this general reluctancy for the team to come out with absolute conviction demostrates that Vettel is their number 1 (although they carry on with this charade that he isn't).

For Horner to state earlier today that he would prefer to lose the WDC than to make Vettel support Webber is just a slap in Mark's face. For crying out loud, McLaren have the current world champion who will help Hamilton!

A racing "incident" would assure Alonso gets a DNF, both Red Bull drivers have plenty of experience this year in that type of environment, with the added benefit that Webber's car tends to survive to the end.

That's the point WB. Vettel needs Alonso to have a DNF or a shocker. What's the chances of that happening seriously?

Anything can happen in F1, we'll just have to wait till Brazil to see. Part of being a fan is to wonder if strings were pulled (typically on opposing teams of course) and then we get our over the winter topic of discussion.

Hey you never know, maybe Sutil will go mad again! Or Button might just succumb to team orders (which he should) and help Lewis out by taking out Alonso. If he can catch him. However a terrible first out lap on cold tires would be a good excuse.

This goes for both Red Bull and McLaren; if either team want to claim a drivers title; they need to support their leading drivers; Webber is ahead by 14 points of Vettel and Hamilton is ahead of Jenson by 21 points; it would be insanity to stick with their equal status and it'll be even more insane for Red Bull to support Vettel!

Yes, but Alonso's the WDC leader now, not the one chasing. It won't be worth trying to take him out as the driver might DNF himself, the only way is if they tag team him, but the redbull drivers won't work together.
