Michael just kicked some a** today. I've always said, I think 2011 is the year to judge, not this one. The Merc isn't even a podium candidate, what do people expect of a near 42 year old man who hasn't driven an F1 car in anger for 3 years!!!

So; Schumacher was fast again this weekend. He made Q3 and finished 4th in the race.

Deserves me right for betting against him. :banghead:

You missed a mitigating factor:
what do people expect of a near 42 year old exceptional man who hasn't driven an F1 car in anger for 3 years!!!

I've not studied his anatomy but it definitely was indicative of his supersized ego. I can fair guarantee that if MSC comes back in 2011, Ross Brawn will have an understudy waiting in the wings.

This reply is indicative of your resistance to accept things for what they are.
All I hear/read now from your post is "blah blah blah". You must have been one of the disillusional people who expected more than what was produced so now you have another 'ax to grind' for whatever silly reason it may be, time to growup!

Even though I don't like Schumacher at all - you can find some hateful rage posts by me in the first pages :D - he's done a good job in the last 3 races; if he keeps that performances up in the 2011 season, he may actually be a viable bet for Mercedes.

We may be seeing a new 'nicer' Schumi, too. He gave up a place to his teammate who was faster and on newer tyres. Rosberg acknowledged that he was gifted the place.

2011 the year to judge folks.

Yes I now agree since he seems to be getting to grips with things.

Even though I was slating him somewhat, specially after singapore.

I am and was a Schumacher fan. I think he definitely has showed improved form in the past few races. I rate Nico pretty highly among current drivers, and recently Michael has not been too far off Nico's pace. However, if you look at session and qualifying time, it seems pretty constant for Michael to be about 3 tenths off Nico's pace, sometimes more, sometimes less. That's not bad, and as long as you can carry that pace into and throughout a race I'd say you may be a decent #2 driver for a top team.

All that being said, I'm still somewhat disappointed. If he's not competing evenly with and fighting with Nico next year I'd say his return was a failure. At least as of late he doesn't seem to be getting pushed around on the track.

Even if Schumacher was performing as well as Nico has this season all the hatred towards him would still exist. When it concerns say Hamilton its the chassis but when it concerns Schumacher he does not have what it takes  .
