Quoting a friend from another website;

Bernie's brinksmanship. Pay up or else.
Sooner or later one or both will have to say no and then they'll find out that its almost impossible to get a race reinstated once it is off the calendar. Its a real shame that one man who already has more money than he and his next three generations can spend will destroy the sport for the sake of even more money.

That's possibly the least surprising news in the history of the universe. Bernie Ecclestone is not going to be happy until we have Formula Tilke!!! :rolleyes:

With each passing day/season the future of F1 as we know it is becoming more and more 'iffy' :( .

Be good if LDM's buy-out of Bernie-Inc happens

It's pretty self explanatory :-)

My meaning is that I get all my insider info here so if you could offer a link I could bring myself up-to-date.

No link - put it down as a wild stab in the dark

If Spa and Monza leave the calender, I'm just going to be replaying old mid 90s-2000s tapes all season round without bothering to tune in to anything live in F1.

I would not take it that far but might revert to some of my '80's races when F1 was still F1 and drivers were drivers instead of 'blue flag' crybaby's :yes: .

F1 is obviously moving East and soon I see the whole calendar concentrated on the eastern side of the world. I find it quite annoying because as I am European I am more used to European cultures and European ways of thinking. I think it will take me sometime to get used to these new races because Malaysia and the UAE are too new countries to have rich history and therefore no culture which can often reflect to the tempo of the racing.

Tilke designs all the new f1 tracks and he's German. The teams don't magically become Eastern if the race is on the Eastern side of the world (from a European perspective) you know.

When the inevitable happens and European tracks disappear in exchange for eastern Tilke designed tracks; will the middle/far east countries maintain a popular following? There are already some middle/far east tracks have half empty grandstands after just a handful of races at the circuits. Then there is the issue of European sponsors; they are not likely to remain sponsors of teams if they do not get their exposure in their core markets, which will be detrimental to the independent teams mainly

I guess so. I just don't see F1 as mighty without European tracks because it has had those tracks for up to 60 years and I don't want to imagine an F1 calendar without silverstone/spa/monza etc.
