Changes to the Yeongam track:-
1) Pit Lane entry - white line will be removed so drivers can stay on the power, even as they are going into the pit lane. As it is now, with the white line, cars entering the pit are on the racing line but much slower. This is definitely being done overnight.
2) Turn 16 - kerb height differential to be reduced
3) Turn 10 - kerb height differential to be reduced
Hopefully they can actually get that done before tomorrow or the race.
They may also actually move a curb apex.....

I didn't see practice, anyone got any comments? It's hard to tell from just the fastest lap times, but commentary etc during the runs normally provides some insight.

What's Fernando playing at here?
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso believes McLaren's Lewis Hamilton is favourite to earn victory at this weekend's inaugural Korean Grand Prix.

I'm sure that'll get some here very excited.

Hahaha, Alonso is saying that Red Bull are favourites according to autosport.com.

You can't read anything at all from the times today. Seems like it'll be the usual 5 cars up front though, with Kubica in there somewhere too, but in what order is anyone's guess! It was so dusty at first and the track still has more rubbering in to do. Unfortunately i think this is just going to leave us with one clean line (this will ruin the starts of the 'even' side of the grid too, surely) and prevent any overtaking cause there'll be no grip off line! I'm hoping it rains at some point, it doesn't even matter if it's during the race or not.

Parts of the track are very reminiscent of Canada... i'd be amazed if we don't have a couple of safety cars. Also people are being held up a lot, i expect penalties from qualifying...

I watched P1 and 2 and yeah its too early to say who is where, especially with the track changing so drastically. But I would say McLaren is well suited to this layout.

I love how Kubica is almost always the proverbial monkey wrench that gets thrown in the other teams' plans. :hehe:

hehe sort of like Liuzzi... except liuzzi has simply been there to clip and chip parts from other cars.

Renault is fastest in sector 1.
Gotta see how much d/f they compromised for S2-3... but them being much faster than everyone with the 'least powerful engine' and still be competitive in the rest of the track, means that Renault and Kubica have got the car (and Fduct) going very well.

Hopefully Kubica isnt ahead of Alonso hehe

If it rains Saturday night, the drivers might as well queue up on starting grid Sunday wearing blindfolds. The carnage would be no greater.

So who did they get to inspect the track exactly as it seems whoever they were weren't very good at their job. But at the same time; these drivers get paid an awful lot of money to race and they moan and whine like babies when they have a tougher track to drive on; stay off the curb and they'll not have a problem. But they track looks interesting from what I saw of FP2; I like the three straights; should provide some good overtaking chances, Looking forward to seeing Kobayashi in action on race day; he loves overtaking into slower corners. The Korean track almost reminds me of the old Hockenheimring before it was Tilke'd in 2002!

To me it seems like the child of Turkey and Sepang... with the dust of Bahrain hehe

Some drivers were arguing why they were going to change one of the curbs, as some cars/drivers were able to deal with the issue...

Massa had trouble... which hopefully will be sorted before Q, otherwise he will begin to look really bad if he doesnt get into P5 at least.

You should have put an exclamation mark on your last sentence, just to jazz it up!! :D

I like this track! I didn't think I would, but there you go. Can't wait for sunday

At the extreme risk of upsetting the self appointed "off-topic" police ...
I'm gonna post this here....
I wonder what sort of load it's under when it does flex. I think the test for this part is 200Kgs? Be good if someone could verify or correct me on that one...
