My brother Brian the 'great white hunter' was on an Elk hunt in Utah and on the way back down the mountain his horse was spooked by a Mule Deer and threw him off. He sustained fractures in two of his neck vertebrae and he was LifeFlighted off the mountain to a hospital in Montana. He is now walking on his own so the relief in our family is enormous.

Just recieved that great news about an hour ago  .

Must be a relief for your family to know he's recovering. When you mentioned the scenario in which it happened Christopher Reeve came to mind, so you got the best news you could get!

Good luck to your brother! he's lucky to come up with no major injury.
My dad fractured a cervical about 2 yrs ago... very scary, painful and difficult/slow to heal.

Best wishes, and do advise him to take his time to fully heal. No impact stuff anytime soon...

regards
