Ah cool
That's sort of my job. Actually, it used to be, a few yrs back...
Dams are ussually "out of scale" projects... standing on the foot or crest of a dam is ussually breathtaking. Also watching the spillways at work... the sound of thousands of m3/s flowing is pretty impressive.
Actually, the scariest thing i've ever done was a hydropower tunnel inspection...
we had to walk/inspect the structure of a 2km long - 3m diameter concrete tunnel, 120m below ground and under about 115 m of water and a 370,000,000 M3 reservoir. The one thing that separated us from all that water was the steel gate, which had a little debris caught between the seal and was leaking some water... enough pressure to send us body rafting along the tunnel... think about firefighter hose... out of a 5cm or so gap hehe
At the end of the tunnel started the steel lined power pipe....... leading to the turbines. Wouldnt wanna fall in there. But they were shut off for the inspection

just an anecdote

Came out fighting indeed.
