The thread title has a question mark, doesn't that suggest discussion enough?

It's in two parts it doesn't let us debate the question posed before stuffing an answer into our mouth I don't think it's fair, that's all, all it had to say was I think Kubica, not it's not one of the 5 contenders.

Hmm, the orgional title of the article doesn't have a question mark in it, so looks like the OP deliberately tried to make it look like a debate/discussion topic.

Just to clarify things as the original poster, I copied the thread title from the original article. I had to abbreviate some of the words to make it fit.

It was not my opinion. But even if it were, I don't get what all the fuss is about.

It's an interesting article and whether or not you agree with its content that is open for debate.

You find my personal opinion at the bottom of my original post.

This is how the title appears in the original article:

COMMENT: The best driver of F1 2010? It isn't one of the title contenders

I don't think anyone can refute that Kubica has definitely out performed where we thought Renault would bewhen the season started. Without a team mate with a proven level of speed, racecraft etc etc and car that would put him up with the much debated title runner we don't really know just how good he could be.

Also kobayashi has been most impressive when he has been on form if more incosistant than Kubica. As much as Kobayashi has been impressive and entertaining remember he has been the guy dropped in q1 with the new guys a few times.

Ideal season have Ferrari, Mclearen, Red Bull, Mercedes, Renault and Sauber all with front running cars next year. I know I'm dreaming but. What a great year that would be.

For me the best drivers this season are Kubica, Hamilton and Nico/Webber. Difficult to assess webber because he is in a insanely fast car, at the same time Nico's teammate is 41 years old.

Kubica showed nothing in wet weather driving this weekend.
Hamilton got the most out of what he was driving but, did a get off to give back 2nd to Alonso who eventually won.
That makes Hamilton a non factor for best as he did a rookie thing for a former WDC.
Nico has been good and has held up under the MS pressure very well; he would get my nod.
Don't forget Sutil; he is driving an ill handling crate and literally willing it around the track.
Still, if I had to bet my life on a driver, it would be Alonso time and time again.

It might be Kobayashi, he can drive.

Yeah Kobayashi is definitely up there. Although if anything he might be just a bit too aggressive. Which is great. He performs make-or-break overtakes, he often makes them. But could break them too.

Sutil driving Button off the circuit yesterday. In my opinion that is clearly the best overtake all year. :cloud9:

Sutil was driving everyone off the track yesterday, even himself. He was driving like a man possessed, with something to prove. Just not sure what it was.

I'm not entirely sure I can take that seriously. You say that Hamilton made a rookie mistake which rules him out, yet you go on to praise Sutil who drove in to everyone and their mother on Sunday and Alonso who has made a few mistakes that a rookie would make this season.

Out driving your car is not a rookie mistake; it shows you have SACK.
The subject is best driver of 2010 who IS NOT of the title contention.
The only error I might have made is including Hamilton who I believe is out of title contention...LOL

not really. hehe
I think the title is implying the best driver in 2010 IS NOT in title contention...

i guess your understanding is much more reasonable though. There's just no way to compare drivers when there's sigginifficant pressure difference. I mean, Kubica's been battling Nico and Schumi and whoever slags behind from the fronters....... the title contenders are battling the heavy weights in the heavy weight cars..... not the same.

But its fun to play ;)

Rosberg and Kubica are the best drivers who aren't contenders for 2010 Championship, both could be future world Champion for sure, would love to watch the season when they get into the right position to be really in the race for a championship!

Kobayashi, this man can drive and he's a star of the future - most exciting man on the field by far, I think he needs a bit of control but I think he'll learn with experience about that. he's the star of the season for me even though he's probably not the best driver on the grid yet. :D

the best drivers over the season who are not in title contention are sutil (except korea! :hehe:), kobayashi with sauber making improvements to their car, rosberg living up to the pressure of the ''schumi comeback'' and kubica who continues to prove he is a class act! but to say lewis is out of it...ooo noo he aint ITS GAME ON BOYS AND GIRLS!! :hehe:
