As so many great coaches and managers have said, there is no "i" in team.

There may not be an "I" but there is a "me"

As long as you don't mind being a "backward" me

Perhaps Jenson will have more to say in the future on the tyres he started in Japan with - that would be interesting to hear.

Still ignoring facts I put forward  he does have a say, he wanted to go on the prime! His decision had nothing to do with Lewis! Jenson wants to retain his crown why would he help lewis? you're a waste of time! It's apparent ever since Germany you're looking so hard for team orders elsewhere in an attemp to justify in your own mind Ferraris actions in sacrificing some Massa Mutton!

You need to calm down and read carefully..... can you see the word "more"
I read what he had to say and I've read your comments.
I think in my quote he's talking about the tyres he started on, you think he's talking about when he pitted. We disagree and I've accepted we disagree.
Sooooooooo, I commented that perhaps Jenson will have "more" to say on this in the future. More, extra, something to add, additional stuff, other things that he hasn't said, elaborations............. more :banghead:

It's plain logical whih is why its so frustrating! Jenson chose his tyres so why would he be angry about that like you suggest? In the post race debrief(another Interview) his only question was why he didn't pit earlier not why he started on the prime! If he was questioning that call don't you logically think he would have said something after Qualifying? Even better simply not agreed to he tyre choice in Q3? Fact is he was in on the choice and race strategy, which may just have worked IF not for the SC period!

He probably can't publicly disagree/fight with his boss.
I really believe he didn't want to start on primes and I believe he did his best to make that point.
However, I do understand your passionate about this topic, I recently saw a video which covers it pretty well I guess :)

General warning; there has been far too much petty bickering between certain members; you know who you are! This really needs to stop; if you really feel the need to fight it out; make a private chat room to continue your war of words instead making other members read through pages of going around in circles taking cheap shots at each other.

As was pointed out... BBC had an interview with Whitmarsh (either in the run up to the race or during Quali) where the team Principal said that it was Jenson's decision and that they disagreed (also that he wanted to take this gamble in other races this year), but this time the team relented and let him make the decision.

Of course that is all part of the great concealed McLaren team orders conspiracy... God forbid that a driver has a mind of his own! :yikes::hehe:

whilst you characterize "team" stuff as "cheating" I characterize it as the essence of "team" and selflessness

Then surely you'd characterize individualism, drivers tactics and the absence of puppeteering in other teams as their essence and leave it at that instead of questioning the actions and assuming something insidious must be going on.

I'm sorry, when did I say something insidious is going on?

It seems Jenson won't leave qualifying and tyre choice from Susuka go .....

On his own website, Jenson cast more doubt on who was calling the shots on his car setup during qualifying.

He stated:-
"I think I could have extracted a bit more from the car if I'd been fuelled for just a single lap in Q3."
And of course he would have had the option and the time to do a second run on the option tyre!

He also stated:-
"I can understand why the team felt it was wiser to fuel for two laps, "
This is stating that it was the "teams" decision to fuel him so that he had to stay out doing extra laps and not have the time to come in a change to the softer tyre. As he then went on to mention, perhaps he could have then tried to "challenge Fernando".
