Need to congratulate Jenson on an excellent start again. I think he has proved to be the outstanding driver when it comes to starts this season - Singapore his only blemish.

Anyway, just look at how he gets past my guy Fernando and completely heads him into turn1.

Having said that, I'm pretty chuffed with the move by Fernando to grab the place straight back after the next turn. Well done Nando, I guess I'd call that 15-all

The video also has footage of Massa's start.

I saw the wheel go away but since there was no commentary I had now way of telling whether it was cause or effect.

Just before you see a cloud come from the rear, it doesn't look like smoke though, so I thought, not oil, maybe a brake exploding?

I saw the smoke too but for all I could tell it could just have been tire smoke from a locked brake. I could not distinguish it from other types of smoke.

Jenson seemed to do the same as Singapore, he just let Alonso back through there? Although maybe the softer tyre came into play? Alonso just breezed past him into the corner.

Massa got crowded out there, the Mercedes also twitched right, which might have been why Massa took it onto the grass.

Yes, maybe McLaren told Jenson to back off so that Alonso can go back through, as they did the same favour for Lewis in Singapore 1st corner.

Actually, read my post in the knowledge that I don't think Jenson let Lewis in Singapore, and you'll find it suggests different.

I'm saying Jenson has been over cautious.

It wasn't directed at you but someone else who suggested that Jenson moved over for Lewis in Singapore because the TEAM told him to. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ah, no worries, just kinda assumed it was directed at me as you quoted me. But no hard feelings, I'll get you next time :hehe:

Usually if it's a tyre you can see it lock-up, but the picture quality for me wasn't really clear (bring on HD). It was just my guess. Whatever, it was pretty dramatic.
