No Ferrari is not the best team for Alonso. Ferrari put the team above everything else. Alonso puts himself above everything else.

All the teams put the team above everything else.

All the teams dont have Alonso in them.

That's why only 2 (teams) are going for the title now. :whip::D

That would be Red Bull and McLaren, I presume? Ferrari are virtually out of the WCC.

:whip:

this points system is decieving, Kimi won the title by a greater margin with 2 races to go. I wouldnt get so cocky so soon F1ea especially after you effectively wrote off Alonso yourself a few races back. Irony will bite you on the bum.

I think f1ea was being facetious, not cocky! :grouphug:

Umm that's very much what I said but in one sentence. Took me a whole paragraph though. Nice to the point then Anna. :)

But the question was is Ferrari the best team for Alonso, not is Alonso the best driver for Ferrari.

Ferrari probably is, Alonso won't go to McLaren with Lewis there, actually he might do quite well in redbull?

But yes, it is, Ferrari probably will continue making competitive cars and Alonso seems to work well with their engineers, I think he will retire a Ferrari driver.

But anyway... i said IN the championship fight. Not that he's actually going to win it. Under what should be expected, a Red Bull driver is going to win the WDC.

I didnt mean the WCC either. But, Fernando has been of more help to the WCC than Massa. So whatever position Ferrari is in for the WCC is out of control for Alonso. He can only help out on HIS part.

So yeah... only 2 teams are going for the WDC.

When Ferrari gets a real second driver to their team (Massa is too good to be number 2) then it would be perfect for him. I just can't see Alonso playing a good teammate to someone who is fighting for the championship

You what? At the moment I feel like saying he's too bad to even be considered number 2.

This year has been a big struggle for him but he was 200m from being a world champion in 2008. He is a very very good driver, I'm pretty sure Alonso has also been one of the reasons behind his struggle with teams' focus being on him. Can't say I blame them actually, Alonso has a nice chance to win the title. If he wins it by 4 points or less it will be pretty ironic.

Massa & Alonso Are Best For Ferrari :smash:

Id hate it if they had 2 decent drivers

Hey, we agree!
In fact I agree 100% with you, why on earth would Ferrari drop either of their "superb" "best-currently competing-in-F1" drivers for a "decent" driver :D

Yeah you can pretend that is true if it helps you believe when you say Forza Ferrari at night before you go to bed with your wife.

I'm just getting around to watching this years Top Gear on BBC America... we're months behind schedule. The episode this week was Barrichello, something very interesting Jeremy was grilling him on was his years at Ferrari and the relegation to being a number 2 driver there.

Barrichello said that there was nothing on his contract, and no indication whatsoever about his support status, and he discussed an interesting back and fourth exchange that happened in the now infamous event letting Schumacher by for the win.

He pretty much insinuated that he received an ultimatum, let him pass or you're fired. His defiance till the last turn of the last lap said he at least showed more balls than Massa, but in the end, keeping a job with Ferrari is something a lot of drivers are going to be willing to do. Being number two at a top team certainly beats being number one in a mid field team, both financially, and for the occasional spoils win.
