OOohh look how Alonso beautifuly inherited a podium spot from Kubicas loose wheel, oooh look how the Mclaren was the second fastest car and Alonso beat Hamilton, oooooh do i think Hamilton would of caught Alonso, of course not, nobody catches Alonso, it is Alonso. This "would Hamilton catch Alonso thing" shouldn't even be a line of discussion on here, as Hamilton broke down, no body was that concerned about Alonso and Vettel in Bahrain, but its Alonso/Hamilton.

Well it is, stupid Alonso fans need every chance they can to mention when their guy finishes in front of "our" guy, i think everyone here saw the race, its a poor attempt at hiding how they need to reassure themselves so often that it was Alonsos skill purely and solely that puts him in these positions, funny that you dont think Hamilton would of caught him AFTER he loses a gear isnt it, theres no chance of being made to look a fool then. Im not bothered, ive got 2011,2012,2013,2014,2015,2016....... to wait for the next WDC's of Lewis's, aint Nando getting old now?

There was no chance to talk about it, as Hamilton broke down before he pulled up to Alonso, Alonso did have pace and its possible Hamilton would either not catch up/ not be able to get past him.

It was also brought up by Hamilton fanboys here, about how Hamilton's reliability issue ruined seeing him overtake Alonso.

I hope you're not including me in the category of 'fanboys'. Yes, I said that Hamilton was catching Alonso but I had no doubts that Alonso would hold his position, barring mistakes. The next most likely outcome would have been Hamilton making an attempt that would have ended in tears and another DNF for one of them, maybe both.

No problem! I follow McLaren but I am not blinkered enough to not see that my team and drivers make stupid mistakes.

You should feel priveleged, your about one of 10 people in the world. Theres so much petty remarks and stupidly bias comments on here, i dont know how anyone takes anyone seriously. That said......I have seen one or two people take account of Lewis's mistake, but i can honestly not recall ONCE when a Ferrari fan has actually admitted what their team/driver did was wrong. Never on this forum that is, if i receive no posts in reply with a link to one, then i can be stood corrected, if this post goes unnoticed, well....speaks for itself. Seems theres always an excuse with them.

Back on topic... The race was damned good.

Kobayashi definitely stole the show. 4 or 5 passes up the inside at the hairpin. That guy has balls of steel. Definitely a young driver to keep an eye on for the future. I was suprised that the Torro Rosso didn't get a penalty for baching into him (twice no less) unnecessarily.

Sad to see Rosberg have the problem. He was able to hold off a charging Schumacher, despite there being orders in place that they weren't to bang wheels to fight over the position. I think the entire Mercedes team did an excellent job to get their car competitive for this weekend, despite being poor all year. It was great to see Schumi showing some of the old talent.

A great start by Petrov, and then he throws it right down the toilet by cutting back across too quickly. He is a man definitely under threat, who will replace him is a big question, but he will be at a lesser team next year. It is a shame because he seems to have some talent, it just needs to be honed to make him a great driver. I think that getting put straight into a Renault (which is one of the leading teams - or at least should be, get it together Boullier you bottom) was too much for him.

McLaren, McLaren, McLaren... When are you guys going to stop tripping over yourselves. Lewis is faster... than... you... Confirm you understood that message. Come on, let the faster car go and have a fight at the start. I am against team orders, but since they only cost 100 euros get Button out of the way and Hammy into the fight. Hamilton has more bad luck this weekend, and due to this loses his podium. Without the gearbox change and then subsequent problem he woulda pulled in number 3. Kubica and Alonso wouldn't have caught him to take the place. Without it, he also wouldn't have got caught behind Button.

Alonso pulled out a lucky 3rd place and cruised his way to a podium after the Hamilton GB switch and Kubica's terrible luck. Massa pulls a dumb move and not only ruins his race but the race of a Force India (who cares about them anyways hehehee). Like Petrov, i think this guy is in danger of losing his seat. unlike Petrov, I think he is a great opportunity for a team to pick him and Smedley up as a package. Massa just needs some support from his team and he will come back strong. Lets not forget that if he hadn't had to move out of the way of Alonso, he would be higher up the order (he still pulls out podiums). Perhaps if he wasn't so clearly being killed by Ferrari his races would be turning out better.

RedBull still firmly in the lead of the WDC and WCC. I still think Vettel is the one that will win the WDC. If he can keep it together for the next few races, it is his. Webber just doesn't have the raw pace or talent of the young German. Redbull will dominate the rest of the races, it just comes down to which of the boys in blue are hungrier for the title. Webber the old dog who has only a couple more hunting seasons in him... or Vettel, the young dog that is full of energy but sometimes puts himself into the firing line because he is too brash?

The rest of the season is in for excitement. I agree that it is down to 3 drivers. Hamilton could easily have been there, but made too many mistakes and had too much bad luck.

Yeah. that was Alguersuari... Kobayashi is a trooper. He ended up with bangs and bruises on his car... but that's what i'm talking about. That's how F1s gotta be built! not these fragile porcelain cars that break on sight.

Heh. well maybe that fragile McLaren is, on the other hand the Italian workmanship from Ferrari seems to resist almost anything it gets put through with Fernando driving.

And I nearly forgot to point out on this thread that Massa had his first retirement of the season, and it wasn't reliability related. Still a bit surprised he didn't get a penalty, wonder if Luca's words had an effect on him going on the grass rather than simply slowing down coming into the first corner quicker than those in front but no tarmac available.
