I dont think Alonso can accept no team orders. He has to be number 1.

Easy... don't hire him then. But how come he gets hired?
Must be something we dont know... ;)

He gets sacked too.

Ah no, you see you have it wrong. There was no problem in Alonso ACCEPTING team orders. he was positively BEGGING for them. But McLaren wouldnt play ball.
So back to the topic, how would he cope with an other team mate who is as fast, or faster than him??? If indeed Massa's seat is in danger.
#219772
Yep - Massa's seat is in danger. And a straight swap for Kubica looks like the only way for Massa to still end up in a competitive seat. I think Kubica would also be interested in driving for Ferrari, unless he's been assured of a more competitive car next year.

Interesting thought though, the Renault Team next year could be 1. Raikkonen and 2. Massa. :cloud9:

I think that's a dream pairing at Renault, instead of Kubica and Massa.

li believe massa will be at ferrari in 2011, but i think he will need to be closer to alonso to convince luca and stefano that hes the right man for the second drive at the scuderia....but then my mate keeps going on about hamilton going there...if i had my way no chance lewis is a mclaren boy and hes staying there!

I really doubt Lewis would get to Ferrari, I have a certain feeling that neither Ferrari or their fans would like him that much.

For me, I'd welcome Lewis to Ferrari. What's more, I think he'd be successful there and I think he'd learn a lot and develop as a driver and person.

Having said that, I don't think there's any chance it will happen. Lewis is happy at McLaren and McLaren are happy with Lewis, so that's good for F1. Also, it should be remembered that McLaren invested a lot in Lewis from a very young age, so it would be good to see the faith they placed in him, returned by Lewis by staying with the team - perhaps ending his career there.

And the fact that Alonso is at Ferrari also has no bearing on this either? I think there is no chance they will EVER drive on the same team again.

(Hmmmm... A future Senna-Prost-like team pairing maybe?)

McLaren did invest a lot in Lewis but Ron Dennis is a business man first and formost. The minute Lewis stopped delivering so the investment would have stopped. It was a business arrangement. Ron hasnt gone from car mechanic to where he is in the world on sentiment. That said, I personally hope Lewis stays his whole career at McLaren, but not because he owes anyone anything, he doesnt, but because he wants to.

I believe it's safe to say that Massa will be driving a Ferrari next season; Hamilton will be driving a McLaren; Alonso will never willingly work with a driver of equal or better calibre; he likes to be clear #1 which makes Ferrari the perfect team for him and historically Ferrari favour one driver over another. No chance of Hamilton going to Ferrari!

So China 2007 didn't happen? Ron didn't say that he and Lewis were fighting Alonso not Ferrari? No team orders there?

I think Fernando would love to have Lewis as his partner at Ferrari.

In defence Alonso was already sacked by then.

Well I didnt know Fernando felt that way about Lewis, but Im sure Lewis doesnt roll that way. :P

As Bud said. Alonso was sacked by then. And if you remember there was an FIA official 'protecting' the child. The FIA were very keen on ensuring their team orders rule wasnt trangressed back then. How times have changed.
