It'd be a logistical nightmare to reschedule the race; everything should be in-place already for the race; all the vendors, hotels and lots of other things may not be available at a later time, not to mention the logistics for the teams, FIA and Formula One Management!

I must admit - this track looks fantastic. I wonder if that architect's plans will ever be realised?

This track has some characteristics of Istanbul, Sepang and Suzuka in my opinion. But the long straights seem to favour Ferrari? Maybe my earlier prediction was wrong about it being a Ferrari track, because the three circuits I listed were all dominated by Red Bull.

I think it's clear Webber has to win this race, although one might expect him to be more dominant at Brazil - a traditional circuit. It's fantastic - I can't wait for this one.

I'm predicting a fairly similar podium to the last race, maybe Hamilton can spoil the party.

I don't normally bother with official F1 team sites, but there's some fantastic content right there. I agree with you about the circuit characteristics, sorta - i think it seems more like a mix of Istanbul and Abu Dhabi. I believe there's elements that suit each of the front running teams though. There's quick corners for the Red Bulls, with some slow corners and heavy braking/traction zones that should suit Ferrari. I think the McLaren sits somewhere between those two, which might just play into their hands... i do definitely think the combination of a high(ish) downforce with long straights will suit their rear wing duct system (which is supposedly and apparently still better than the others).

I'm pretty sure the race will go ahead fine now that the final track surface layer has been put down. Question is, will it break up with 24 F1 cars pounding around it? That remains to be seen...

I just hope this track delivers, it's pretty intriguing to me really.

Yep - I forgot about Abu Dhabi - likely because I'm not familiar with Abu Dhabi's layout. But yeah - that's the obvious choice. Scrap the Sepang straights, it's the Abu Dhabi ones for sure.

Bridgestone better be bringing the hard and the Viagara compounds to Korea, because a freshly laid circuit is going to be destroying tires.
