Don't be such a sook bud. It's funny s***.

What I find funny is the obsession Spanish fans have with Lewis, and rather than talk about the race or their favourite sons P3 a fan comes on here to talk about a parade lap car? Guess talking about the race is a bit much to ask for a bunch of part time fans who will not care about this sport when Alonso retires.

oh and you can keep this :thefinger:

In the words of someone else on the forum, I think you're being a bit harsh and painting the Spanish fans with too broad a stroke. If there is some truth to what you're saying and I'm debating that. Look at it this way. You're Australian... you can root for your Aussie driver, you have some allegiance with UK and therefore can root for McLaren and Brit drivers and even if you wanted to stretch it a bit, maybe you could cheer on a Malaysian based team with British Racing green paint.

Spanish drivers on the other hand don't have so much choice right now so you could understand the concentrated support. So in picking between HRT or a double world champion, the choice is probably easy.

KOBAYASHI.

I'm annoyed about Kubica's incident in more ways than one - he could have thrown a real spanner in the works today, and deserved a good result. Ah well.

Hamilton did a good job today, all things considered. However both the McLaren guys are now more than one entire win off the championship lead - i think they're out of it given that there are 3 guys ahead of them both in the table and generally on the track. And Hamilton will have another grid penalty. Webber and Alonso certainly look like the drivers most capable of running in 'championship' mode.

Oh, and i loved how Webber took fastest lap at the end like that.

FAILepe Massa.

When I first joined here, a Moddy got stuck into me, which I accepted, for not respecting driver's names.
As this is from a moddy, does it mean the shackles are off me, and everyone else now?

There is an element of discretion though, fact is i was just expressing my annoyance with Massa's appauling performance today (which is undeniably the case) rather than just slating a driver constantly for no apparent reason. I dunno why you are banging on about respect, but either way the guy got my permanent respect with the way he handled himself after that race in Brazil.

Forget about Bud, he just wants to start a fight from everything. He's always being rude about Alonso, and don't allow even a naïf joke.

Bud, I never wish any bad to any driver, maybe you should double-check your posts and start not being a hypocrite :fallenangel:

I go for McLaren because i grew up following Senna even before he was at McLaren he was my favourite when i went to the GPs since the age of 5 at my own citys race. Once he died I stuck with the team that he had the most success and spent most his time with. Has nothing to do with a British/Australian connection. Infact if you were to suggest this to most Australians they would want to sock you one in the mouth :hehe:

My point is you dont need to have your own nationality to enjoy a sport. Spanish fans only started tuning in when Alonso was winning. Fair enough but are they really fans of the sport or just fans of someone else winning to make their own life have some meaning in the name of patriotism? I know ill be tuning into F1 regardless of whether theres an Aussie in the field or not.

Just a rational attempt an an explanation of how you could understand why it's happening. I just don't want to pain anyone with a wide brush.

If I was going to get socked in the mouth by an Aussie... I'd make sure it was for a much worse reason than claiming a British/Australian connection! Maybe if I said I didn't like Foster's or something like that. :D

You know it's just a slippery slope when you start discussing nationalism in F1 because even though I think it exists, I just don't think it's anywhere near the realm of what it is other sports. Football (cough) Futbol (cough) and it's completely tolerated and even encouraged there. I think most F1 fans don't go for national support first...

I was excited for USF1(seems like so long ago) not because of the would be an American team, but for what it could do for raising the awareness of F1 in the US.

.

Actually if you said to an Aussie you hated Fosters they would think youre a legend!

You might find this weird but no Australians drink Fosters, If i want it, i have to go to the imported beer section of the liquer store. Its basically a beer marketed for the British as an Aussie beer. Yes its owned by us but no one drinks it down here. :hehe:

way offtopic but really is beer talk offtopic in regards to motor racing?? i dont think so :hehe:

I like seeing people obsess about Hamilton...it shows he's really rocked their boat when he kicked Alonsos bottom in his rookie year. :D

as long as mark keeps going trucking, i am happy. mclaren falling behind or not, its about mark this season!

earlier in the thread vaptin said it wasn't a ferrari track ? where does that come from ? i would think it would play into there hands just as much as redbull if not a little more thanks to the 2 decent length straights.

but good on lotus, good on koby and well done to the clean up crews after the demolition derby at the start of the race.

I didn't say about "talking about", but about "wishing bad to someone". No other McLaren fan had any problem with my little innocent joke... no other but you.

I won't waste any other second with your obsession, so, stop flooding my private message board, I'll send you the list if you want :wavey:
