Despite the lack of qualifying yesterday, I thought there were some funny moments in the BBC coverage; my favourite was when Mike Gascoigne said when referring to the boat racing down the pit lane; "we might as well give it a go; it's the only thing we can win this year"

It looks bad for the race as according to weather.com; it will consistently rain all day today in Suzuka and scattered thunderstorms will be making an appearance around race start time, I wonder if the race will go ahead if conditions remain the same, I've never heard of a race being cancelled because of weather before, maybe this'll be the first!

We must be looking at different weather sites, cause this one:-
http://www.yr.no/place/Japan/Mie/Suzuka/hour_by_hour.html
Show no rain for q as well as the race.
Probably damp for Q and dry for the race.

Yer I saw that clip on the bbc website and found that pretty funny. I wonder if that duck or bird chose to come onto the track on it's own accord or whether people put them on to show how bad the rain was!

It is an American website; so it's likely to be wrong, they are probably using outdated maps; isn't that the usual excuse ;):P

Time for some predictions:-

That just made Q coverage worth it, very funny

Organise cars based on #?? WTF?!!
And Lewis with a gearbox pelanty. wow. I guess he's definitely looking forward to the grid arranged by #.

I heard about the # on the car for qualifing, that is a horrible idea. It should be season standings.

I did not hear anything about LH gearbox change. He will still get penalized from which ever position he is given.

Uh-oh. Forecast has just changed again. Light rain for Q and the race, heavy rain in between.

OK lets get a handle on this. Was quali rained out and the drivers will start in numerical order or what?

No, quali is now at 10am tomorrow.

I dunno if it's been mentioned but if they have to start with the numerical order (ie if this qualifying session tomorrow is also rained out) then Schumacher will be gifted a front row start, due to Hamilton's 5 place grid penalty.

Mucho gracias and I hope the telly schedules show the changes or I'll miss the whole kit and kaboodal :( . Thats 10am engrish time so I must subtract 6 :hehe: ?

And Massa would start ahead of Alonso with Hamilton in between.

Williams' tech director thinks F1 need "monsoon" tyres for such extreme conditions. The problem with that solution is that if the water is running too deep for full wet tyres, it also is being drawn up under the skid block and buoying the entire car. Once the skid block becomes a surf board, tyres are of little consequence.

Good to watch F1 in daylight hours at a normal time for a change. Staying up late for races tailered for Bernie's timetable is crap in Australia.
