After thousands of years, Britain's Druids recognized as a religion, to get tax breaks

LONDON — Druids have been worshiping the sun and earth for thousands of years in Europe, but now they can say they're practicing an officially recognized religion.

The ancient pagan tradition best known for gatherings at Stonehenge every summer solstice has been formally classed as a religion under charity law for the first time in Britain, the national charity regulator said Saturday. That means Druids can receive exemptions from taxes on donations — and now have the same status as such mainstream religions as the Church of England.

But that's a completely different discussion. This was simply to welcome druids into the official religion status realm. So now they can get tax exemption just like other religions.

What about other pagan religions? I'm fascinated by he old Norse and Germanic mythology! Which alot of Christian figures and dates are based on to make conversion easier.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Brands Hatch!

I think people need belief in something. So why not let Druids be able to believe in nature (IIRC) When was the last time there was a war caused by Druidism?
