I passed my US driving test; my British licence carried me through this far; after two years I had to get an official US licence!

Easier or harder to pass over there?

Ridiculously easy to pass, especially motorcycle test - it borders on retarded, seriously. :banghead:

Yes; I was amazed how easy the test was; basically make four right turns and a left and pull back into the testing centre car park..., no emergency stop; no reversing around corners, no parallel parking and I didn't even have to a take a theory test! The whole test took less that five minutes, no wonder there are so many bad drivers on US roads!

Thanks for all the congrats :)

it's all a big government conspiracy scheme to increase the amount of moving violation fines given to those bad drivers!

Thats rediculous at best and just conspiracy hunting imo YET I agree that our driving test is one of if not the easiest to pass. Yet it has increased in difficulty with each year.

I'm sorry, I forgot the smiley face.

Yes it's a conspiracy theory,I just completely made it up now, my first one, like it? It looks like it's not so hard to get a career as a conspiracy theorist. I recall seeing a documentary of a driver's test in Finland a couple of years ago and we'd have 50% less drivers on the road here in the US if we applied the same standards they do!

Well thats what makes the US so great :wavey::thumbup::hehe: .

What? The drive to accommodate mediocrity as the standard?

Well lookie here... a quick bit of googling and my conspiracy theory isn't too shabby after all, perhaps I can make a career out of it.

Finland's GDP in 2009 181 Billion. Annual collected national revenue from traffic violations in the US in 2001... 132 Billion!

Canadian intellectuals will never get it so you get a free pass this time :hehe: .

The whole point is anyone can make a conspiracy theory out of anything they want such as "why is the sun hot yet the sky is blue shouldn't it be red". I never said our driving test is not easier compared to other countries but really Finland  ??

My wife believes that the test is so easy because the government wants to support the car industry, more licensed drivers means more car sales.

HA, see... without even trying very hard, I've already got one follower of my conspiracy theory!

I've taken three driver's tests in Africa, England and the US. Guess which was the easiest....

Hint: it wasn't Africa or England :D

I have taken and passed both the British driving test (pre-theory test) and the US test... and my reaction when I was told I had passed the US test was; "is that it?".

Apparently India is easier than the US; from what I heard, it a case of accelerating to 30mph, taking a slight curve and coming to a complete stop before a line!
