Cant be bothered to trawl back pages but am i the only one that seems to realise they were caught building right in monsoon season, that severely disrupted work. Dont think its fair to blame the building contractors, especially as South Korea is booming with skyscrapers and such as of recently.

The people to blame are whoever decided to schedule the construction in such a way as they'd have to do it in a hurry, and in monsoon season.

I think the person to blame is the same person who nearly lost us the British GP with his hairbrained scheme of getting Donnington viable in a year.

There's some speculation today here in Singapore that the Korean GP may be cut as soon as this Friday.

That wouldn't surprise me; Bernie and Co. need to inform the teams in good time; it's unfair to leave it to the last moment to inform teams as they will be in preparation to travel to the race. The track should have been ready for final inspection two weeks ago (six weeks before the race).

On a side note; given the farce in India with the Commonwealth games; I wonder whether India will be ready for it's inaugural race in 2011?

Unrealistic dates being set perhaps?

Next up, Austin. Does 2012 sound a bit optimistic?

From the same mouths that talked about a Charlotte based US F1 team.

There has barely been any "farce", just over sensationalized by the media. Those who actually are watching the games would know. Many athletes are saying that the Commonwealth games in India have the best facilities they have experienced in international sporting events.

Also as long as the group building the track dont run out of money, they will be ready on time as this is being run by a private corporation and not the corrupt government officials that were responsible for the CWG.

Does this mean we will have a gravel section of the track?

It means we will have a full field of DNF's

Yet as we all know Bernie is a master wordsmith and has a forked tongue.

Apparently the final layer of tarmac has been laid so even if all the structures are not completed, the track will be; there were comparisons with Turkey, not being completely ready four weeks before and yet looked amazing by the time the teams arrived to race, so maybe Korea looks worse than what it is; just a little "spit" and "polish" is required!
