Your statement was in response to Scott's which was in response to Vettel's. I'm pretty sure the last two people I mentioned were referring to the Singapore Grandprix (this years), in which case as Alonso won it, he got the last laugh in the context of the joke..

What you decided to do (for reasons that I haven't grasped) was take the idea of the last laugh, and extrapolate it to the drivers championship, now by that same virtue I can take the "last laugh" to be the driver who wins the most championships ever, or even just take it completely out of the context of f1 and say the driver with the last laugh is the one that lives the longest/ or is the happiest, or has net happiness in their lifespan or whatever. You see now?

Ive seen it the whole way through its explaining it to you lot thats the problem. Even if it was defined by what i bolded, youll find im still right in saying Alonso hasnt had the last laugh funnily enough.

I dont understand the first bold part of yours, saying for "reasons you dont understand", then posting a few more sentences that show you completely understand what i did?....Theres 4 races to go, Nobodys laughing. Although in fairness you are right and im wrong in that i didnt realise it was solely on the Singapore Grand Prix, just assumed it was being general.

Whew, we're being nice to each other now, anyway if you can bare (think thats the right spelling) it, I'll add some more bold.

Well, not in terms of the championship, but I was reluctant to consider the last laugh in that context, it stands on its own in your post there, but originally I disagreed with you linking it to the joke Vettel made, which I think you were doing, particularly as you quoted Soctty (who was basing it on Vettel's quote) which implied it was a direct response?

That doesn't show I understood why you did it (link the last laugh idea to winning the championship), it shows I can see and tell what you did.

Im warming a little to Vettel of late, no idea why. (Not just cos he reminded Alonso of one of his scandals). I may go off him again, but Im definately thawing slightly at the moment.

HAHAHA! Admit it RC, you'd like him a lot more if there was a pic of him and Lewis downing a pint somewhere together right?

It's cause he hasn't been on pole or winning, and therefore we haven't been subjected to his annoying finger celebration and stupid shouting over the radio!

Give it more time, he will grow on you. Its obvious that the drivers know alonso was involved even though he wasnt found guilty.

It's not just the drivers, every single person in the paddock and most (intelligent) fans know he was involved. But I'm sure Alonso isn't a stupid guy, he should know everyone knows so it's all good in the end. It's something he can carry to his grave, not that he cares anyway as I don't see him as that kind of person. :hehe:

Yeah, its not like he's going to call a press conference and burst into tears about how the team forced him to do it. That would be just.....weak.

No just carry on lying and passing the buck, far more manly.

The point is the fact taht he could be joyful and celebrate like a maniac after that win, not if he's going to hold a press conference or not. Even Michael felt bad after Austria 2002 and pushed Rubens on the top step, though this Alonso character is on another level. :hehe:

The strange thing about vettel is that as much i like his behaviour outside the cockpit as i hate it when he's inside. He becomes erratic, panicky, stressed and therefor gets a cramp in the finger. But he is pretty spectacular to watch.

Yeah, at least with Micheal it's 'what you see is what you get', he's arrogant on and off the track, but alonso is much more hypocritical. Remember all the 'The team Ferrari is more important than any driver' (imagine it in spanish accent, and it sounds even more hypocritical). I wonder if that was on his mind when he pushed Massa on the pit entry and almost took them both out just a few weeks after that quote.

Evidence doesn't stack up if you all open your eyes for a moment, see Alonso's behaviour with Massa in Germany after the race? Didn't celebrate too much, gave Massa a hug etc.

Strange that, or does Alonso really feel bad and guilty sometimes? So why the different attitude in Singapore 08? He had no reason to feel bad? Of course maybe he didn't think Piquet crashing wasn't such a big thing, (strange considering the lesser team orders with Massa effected him), or maybe he just didn't know?
#217976
What? I saw him punching the air in delight as soon as he finished the German GP and yeah, a hug for your teammate, I see drivers from different teams giving each other hugs. The winner always seems to give the most hugs, which is understandable.

He looked fine throughout the podium celebrations, and he was totally fine defending his teams' actions in the press conference.
