Even if he was in the right frame of mind, it would be tough to win this WDC. The McLaren is a piece of shiny garbage compared to the Ferrari and Redbull now.
Lewis went for the move, it was legit and it was tight...too bad he relied on cooperation from Webber which he didn't receive. From now, it's going to be almost impossible to go for the WDC for Lewis. Lousy car plus a 20 point disadvantage....4 races left.
Just like Monaco and Hungary, the Mclaren was not the best car for these tracks. Their performance was more or less expected for Singapore. In fact, Lewis getting P3 in Qualy was a good achievement. They were behind on race pace, but like at Hungary and Monaco, the car was simply not competitive on those tracks.
The rest of the tracks are very different... so i really doubt Mclaren will be lousy in the remaining races. Obviously, Red Bull is still the car to beat, but F and Mc have made steps to close the gap. How much, we'll see in Suzuka. Suzuka will tell what's the best car all around to fight til the end.
Webber could have DNFd as well, which proves things are just on a wire. 20 pts disadvantage is nothing to place a bet on. Anything over 30 is tough to overcome, but 20 is completely challengeable.
Came out fighting indeed.
