I still dont see that as an overtake, it was neck and neck 1m either way from being in the right or in the wrong. Worth the gamble if you ask me! But yes i believe if it was another driver Fernando would not have gotten so worked up about it as much as he did. Fernando has been rather amusing with his sooking on the team radio this season though, gotta give him that.

I don't think the RB6 is going to be fast enough to beat Hamilton over the upcoming races. We know that mclaren has the retarded ignition working well with the EBD, and we have now "unlocked" the potential of the floor and suspension so we will be in the attack range which is good enough for Hamilton. That RedBull has to be a clear 0.9 seconds faster than the standard level mclaren '25 for it to beat Hamilton. Hamilton can easily overcome that gap in a matter of Laps no matter who is in the RB6.

On the Alonso being bothered by Hamilton's success topic; that insecurity comes with good rivalries so I see no real problem with that. I mean Hamilton brought Alonso right back down to earth in 2007 so I guess that deeply scarred Alonso. And those scars have reopened since he realises that if he gets beat by Hamilton in 2010 it will not look good at all, that he is driving a good Ferrari. All in all they are my two favourite drivers so I think that little psychological battle just adds to the excitement.

Of the 5 drivers, the cream will always rise to the top as they say. It will be my drivers fighting for the win. The two best, Alonso and Hamilton. But I KNOW Hamilton will win this year though.

Far too big a deal was made of the Safety Car issue and Ferrari know it. You win some and you lose some, sometimes your mistakes are punished harshly sometimes and you get off scot-free. But that's racing.

To be factual though, it wasn't even close to a neck-and-neck decision. From Lewis's eyes position, he could see the complete rear of the safety car, so he knew he passed it. It was also the second time he had passed a safety car so it wasn't a new situation for him.

Hangon I was being factual, why are you only allowed to be the one stating facts? The SC was in the pitlane exit it wasnt even on track yet so it wasnt as you say a fore gone conclusion. And When was the first time he passed the SC? Have you got factual evidence that is not hearsay... common walk your talk!

hey, but c'mon. Lewis was the one RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. With a damaged front wing. Alonso knew he was taking that position with ease, they even made the choice of keeping distance to avoid a little issue in case Ham had a problem. in his mind, he already was P2. So that's why the safety car bit was a mental blow.

Not an overtake?? it was 1m on the SC line, which they admitteldy never saw... but the pack was WAY behind the SC... Lewis simply reacted late or miscalculated his move to leave the Ferraris behind the SC. Perhaps Hamilton texted Fernando "that was for blocking me in Hungary" maybe that's what messed with his head

Lewis Hamilton passed the Safety Car at Imola in 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_GP2_Series_season he was black flagged (disqualified).

I said from where he was, his eyes could see the complete rear of the safety car. Here is an aerial photograph clearly showing his head is completely behind the safety car and it has already broken the safety car line.

That's why i said P2 in his mind. He was told by the team to simply keep his distance from Lewis cause he had a mech problem which could have turned into a failure and get involved in some crash. Fernando was set to grab P2 as soon as Lewis pitted, which even if they had pitted together with the SC would have put Alonso ahead of Lewis and Lewis far behind because the time it took for Mcc to change his wing would have allowed several cars past. Very simple, from watching the race you could see that.

He didnt need to be P2 to be ahead of the SC... remember, Lewis WAS P2 and DIDN'T manage to come ahead of the SC
