In the top teams I can't think of another team favouring one over the other. In the mids, maybe Kubica is getting the preference, and Schumi may have been getting it, but I think Nico has proven himself and has pulled equal in the team's favour... I am finding it hard to identify other teams.

Here, it's pretty much a given that everyone agrees, Ferrari will favor a driver to ensure the team will win. I certainly do and I hope they continue doing it, but I think they don't care which driver they favour, they will only do it, if it's needed to protect the win or achieve a win. I don't think Ferrari favours one driver over the other as an SOP.

So I'll ask you Bubbie, (as Bud didn't answer), do you (or anyone else) think that either of the other front runners (McLaren or RBR) have favored either of their drivers in any ways? Lets not go into ancient history, stick to stuff related to current drivers?

I don't think so... But I do have to admit that maybe RedBull had favored Vettel earlier in the season in terms of offtrack support. But as it currently stands, Mark has shown them the folly of their ways. I would think that RBR is now a two horse garage and they are backing both drivers equally.

McLaren is very easily seen as backing both drivers. But In their position it would be tough to back one or the other. One is the WDC, and the other is clearly a better driver.

Some people will never learn sarcasm doesn't work very well in TEXT!

It was designed to bypass the lower quartile on the acumen endowment scale, but, as you asked, I provided the answer.

You need to 'design' it better. In terms of sarcasm, I'm pretty much in the top ranging quartile thus you need to review your work in text sarcasm.

McLaren is very easily seen as backing both drivers. But In their position it would be tough to back one or the other. One is the WDC, and the other is a former WDC and a great driver.

Fixed that for you.

Look at it this way Spanky, If they were tied on points and race wins for the championship it goes on the most highest place finishes to separate them and crown the champion. So hypothetically speaking Lewis would have been champion Fernando 2nd, even though he had the same points and race wins. Simple:wink:

and the "we are racing Fernando" comment came at the second last race of the year, at that point Fernando had already dug his own grave and was all ready on the outer at the team. But hey Spanky so what if the team chooses to favour one driver over the other... i thought you are all for that?

Juliet was correct, this discussion was off topic where it was. So I moved it here.

Seems to fit here because it establishes 100% that McLaren do favor drivers.

Now to Bud points, perhaps you missed it in my previous post, or any of the dozen or so recent ones I put when referring to team orders - I am in favor of them. 100% support them. I don't know how simpler I could put it. Hope that gets through.

You (along with Martin Whitmarsh) on the other hand are on record saying you don't support teams favoring drivers. I guess those principles took a holiday at McLaren in 2007.

Up until Alonso signed his severence with the backmailing you are right there was no team orders. Thats why Alonso spat the dummy (he felt he deserved preferential treatment. After that, there still werent team orders and for the last few races there was an FIA in the McLaren garage holding Alosos hand and ensuring fair play.
Where was that FIA official when Massa`needed him??????

So McLaren were so bad, they needed an FIA official stationed in their garage to try and keep them honest. Must hurt having to admit the team you support is that bad.

Where was that FIA official when Massa`needed him??????

Massa hasn't complained, it's only the other teams, their fans and the antiFerrarista that are complaining.

Nope didnt hurt at all because they arent bad.

So rules are only to be upheld if a person involved complains? Thats strange rules. So a driver still in contract who is afraid to complain and upset his team receives no protection, but a driver getting sacked who can rant and rave because he's history anyway, he does get protection. Stanger and stranger.

Dummy spitting began at monaco. Everyone knows that.
The only one to bring the media into it, was star-struck Lewis. Alonso simply gave him a dose of his own medicine.
the brit fans dont like their own medicine... now how 'bout that

Most domestic abuse cases go unreported...15, 16 Million Euros a year buys a lot of loyalty, so we'll probably never hear a peep.
