Mclaren. They have two of the three* best drivers on the grid, and a great combination of skills.

*I'd say 4, but Schumacher's having an off year

I think its going to be very interesting if both Hamilton and Button have an equally close chance to win the WDC at the last race of the year. I think all respect will then go out the window and the real competitive feud between those two will begin and there will be no more of this "conserve fuel, Jenson" garbage. Which then will make for a very interesting pit garage in 2011 (1989 here we go again, perhaps???). At least Red Bull know the true score between their two drivers and that should be a benefit for them heading into the last races, because I think management has learnt how to handle them both now, whereas McLaren SHOULD be a bomb waiting to go off provided they all make the finish line between now and Abu Dhabi.

As for Fernando, well he's the smartest one there cause he's already got the whole team to support him all the way.

Interesting thought 4M, and reading this quote from Jenson's website that is being run on the pitpass website, you may well be onto something...

"Would I have felt better if I'd won the race but had Lewis alongside me on the podium? That's a difficult one to answer."

Someone accused me of Trolling for posting Jenson's press article given just before Monza about him quitting if he had to follow team orders. I can understand Jenson/Lewis/McLaren fans being sensitive, but, I was just quoting Jenson's own press release and it all seems to be adding to, rather than diffusing tension in the McLaren camp.

Before Jenson's public statements Martin W was critical of Vettel, after Jenson's outbursts Martin is stating he does want Vettel at McLaren.

They are very talented drivers, but as far as being team mates or team anything I tend to more see the bomb than the mates.

I agree. It's been an act all along and a poor one at that. You could see it from Turkey where Jenson backstabbed his team by attacking Lewis when they were supposed to secure the 1-2. They almost made themselves bigger fools than Redbull in that race, it's a good thing they gave some space to each other at least.

This would be the part of the season the McLaren teammates would stop being all buddy buddy. I'm personally sick of it, because this crap doesn't work in F1. The Redbull pairing are most realistic, very business like relationship and both targetting the other to beat first and foremost. Ferrari of course putting a leash on their new faithful Lassie, after Rubens, that's their style.

I can't wait for a McLaren blowup, and then Jenson to be kicked out, hopefully end of this year.

"Would I have felt better if I'd won the race but had Lewis alongside me on the podium? That's a difficult one to answer."

And thats exactly what I want to hear from Jenson because it shows the racer that he is. I just wish he would have followed it up with "Of course I want him on the podium, I want him to see I beat him" cause it shouldn't be difficult to answer, everyone knows why Jenson went to McLaren and that was to prove himself against Lewis. Thats all he wanted to do even when his Honda was crap and he challenged him to a triathalon back in 2008, cause thats all he could challenge him to at the time. And so far Jenson is doing a damn good job, I just wish he'd find that extra tenth like Mark has done to beat his teammate. Then we'd see the greatest driver's world championship ever with 5 guys really going for it.

As for what Martin said about Vettel, well, thats a very interesting comment. What I get out of that is that while they were happy Jenson got a good result in Monza what they're really saying is "we're not here to come second, mate, and if you lose a race from the lead too many times then we'll get someone faster and hungrier." And lets face it, at the moment McLaren is Lewis' team, there's no doubt about it. Hopefully this is the motivation Jenson needs to raise his game and ignite the bomb we all want to see go off. But to be honest, after already being WDC I think his hunger is a bit less....but I hope I'm wrong.

 Which part of my post was sugarcoated? I thought I was pretty clear cut.

I don't feel I deserve the prize, but like Schumacher in his year with Damon Hill, will not refuse it if it was handed to me. :hehe:

Don't like him, comes off as a 2 face to me. I can't stand characters like that. I had a sneaky feeling about him since Turkey, where he challenged Lewis for the lead after the team told them to chill...and as soon as they were out of the cars he went over to Lewis to kiss and make up. I would've liked him a lot more if he just gave a quick congratulations and walked off.

I'm not a Mclaren fan,

I might have overreacted and also realised I was acting like the forum police there, but still its called "best team mates", just posting negatively without offering an alternative best team mates seemed a little trollish to me. Although its just what I thought at the time, and seriously, you haven't really got any reason to pay attention to it.

No problems from my side.

I post both directly to threads and also in reaction to other posts. There had been a few posts suggesting Jenson and Lewis were the best team mates. I was bringing a couple of very recent articles to the attention of the readers here that seem to show a very strident view from Jenson that he won't be doing "team" things and that he couldn't even bring himself to say he'd like to see his team mate standing on the podium with him.

I actually made the specific observation that they are both talented drivers, but, i then posed the question - are they team mates, let alone "best team mates"?
