Not sure but I think there are rational and irrational fear of heights, I often work on scaffolds and as long as it's built properly I don't even think about the height and it's no issue but take away a handrail and it becomes quite scary.

Exactly!I am living in a lower falt of an apartment but i would rather to live in high(like 20th flat).But i wouldnt open the window and look through there because i would be scared to.

I think people are scared of heights because they are scared of dying.The dizzy feeling it gives when you look down is also makes people scared.Even me!

Big bang theory is the best! I guess I have a fear of heights but only when you think it's possible to fall. For example, I'm not scared of the glass floor at the top of the Eiffel tower but I will be scared If I look down while holding onto a railing and outside.
