Britain is becoming a hotspot for corruption and bribery and the number of British companies affected by economic fraud in the past two years is almost twice the global average, according to a report released today by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
PwC's global economic crime survey, in which 302 UK companies were questioned, reveals corruption and bribery are the fastest-growing forms of economic crime in Britain.

British businesses are also naive about assessing risk, with only 17% believing they were "quite likely" or "very likely" to be subject to economic crime in the next two years. This is despite the fact that 48% of UK corporations suffered from some form of economic crime at some point in the past two years compared with 43% globally and 38% in western Europe.

Is this 48% of companies based in England, or actually instances in England.

Take a telecoms company like Orange. They have huge amounts of "offshore" call centres. If the corruption happens in India is the corruption logged in England or India?

That figure is probably ramped up considerably based on the fact that a lot of companies in the UK use offshore call-centres.

Anyway, I just put in perspective Ron's claims of corruption in Italy - almost EVERY country has its form of corruption, so please refrain from broad slander of entire nations.

I am not about to slander Italy but I also aim to put some perspective on this issue
I read recently that The Mafia accounts for 7% of Italy's GPD, This is more than Italys largest companies make! 85billion euros is derived from organised crime. 80% of businesses in Scicily pay protection money.

Try Uganda, where my mother has a safari business, it's 1 Billion times worse then any other place you've seen on earth.

Still, that has nothing to do with Formula One.

Ferrari part of WCC from 1950 – 2007 = 15 WCC’s (Ok you don’t agree with one, but the record books don’t lie)
McLaren part of WCC from 1966 – 2007 = 8 WCC’s If you only take Ferrari wins from 1966 = 13 WCC’s
Williams part of WCC from 1978 – 2007 = 9 WCC’s If you only take Ferrari wins from 1978 = 10 WCC’s
Lotus part of WCC from 1958 – 1994 = 7 WCC’s If you only take Ferrari wins from 1958 = 8 WCC’s

So it looks like they are the most successful in total history of F1 & in various periods of F1.

I can see why the tall poppy syndrome plays a big part in all this.

The periods each team was competing against each other, Ferrari is out in front.

Your reasoning is that if the new Force India team wins the WCC next year they will be the most successful team every because Ferrari had 758 Grand Prix to Force India's 17 Grand Prix's.

Yeh that sounds like bud logic
