martin whitmarsh confirmed at the start of FP1 in a interview that they had multiple wings and that included 2 "small" wings aka low downforce / drag

Lewis switched to one of those in P2, Jenson didn't and continued using the higher downforce wing with the F-duct.

I can't understand why McMowers didn't build/try a small version F-Duct like RB and Ferrari - I think that will end up being a major blunder.
Qualifying will definitely be between McMowers and RB with, in my opinion, RB winning that little battle. 3rd row will be a good result for Ferrari, anything higher will be a great result and will see a lot of happy Tifosi.
Ferrari will be way stronger in the race, and this will develop as the race does. It will be courtesy of tires first and brakes second. Of course barring incidents. Hopefully Lewser and pointy-fingers-Seb will be able to have a race where they don't tag anyone.
What a great circuit Monza is!
We should have a great race and hopefully plenty for the Tifosi to cheer about.
Good luck whoever you support

Your repeated attempts to provoke a reaction from Lewis Hamilton and McLaren fans by using derogatory terms for the team/drivers have earned you an official warning - myownalias

I don't think such a thing exists, since a low downforce rear wing would make the f-duct useless :)

The downforce generated by the low downforce wing still causes drag so it could still work but it'd be whether or not any advantage from that is outweighed by the drag from the f-duct itself over the course of a lap.

In scientific terms: we need more data. :)

Haha all you RB, Ferrari, McLaren fans are going to be disappointed when the mighty Sakon Yamamoto comes from behind and causes the biggest first corner collision in the world, DNFing the top six cars and allowing Kamui Kobayashi to win the race.

I would be happy with that scenario, Kobayashi winning a F1 race would make me immensely happy; I remember when DC tried to pull such a stunt at Spa '08!

I have more concerns about Vettel at the first corner tbh, and every other corner after that too. Who's race is he gonna f*** up this week?

We could make it into the official Forumula1.com gameshow; "whose race is Vettel going to f*ck up?" in the style of "whose line is it anyway?"

Having been "kissed" a few times this year himself, perhaps this is Vettel's Valid Vendetta OR RedBull's Rampant Revenge?

Hopefully, just his own.

Poor Bruno's having some rotten luck. That car does not want to tackle this track.

EDIT: Webber having more problems this morning too. I can't say I'm displeased

yeh i know. that was my original point is that mclaren havent used the monza spec wings + f -duct yet

ferrari looking very strong in fp3, redbulls are no where near as far back as people expect, and mclaren are doing "ok".

Looks like we are in for a treat in qualifying :D. I predict a Alonso/Vettel/Lewis threeway battle for pole and Massa being the black horse.

Two questions: 1. Is Red Bulls' wing flexing like in Hungary and compared to others?
2. Did Vettel use soft tires in his last run in FP3?

I don't think their monza spec wing is designed to accomodate the f-duct so it's not a possible combination for them.

It's because it would be totally superfluous. A Monza spec rear wing is already flat. The F-Duct is designed to flatten a steep rear wing.
It's like saying why wouldn't you iron a shirt that was just perfectly ironed.

1) It's the same - and still legal like it has been at every race
2) Yes

Not exactly like saying that, the wing still generates downforce and there is still drag from that so it's not a perfectly ironed shirt.
