Are we then to believe Alonso when he says he did not receive equal treatment from McLaren after saying Renault were not supporting him in his bid to win the 2006 title saying as he was leaving the team? Right back at you. Unlike you, I don't need to resort to petty insults when making my point. Given that Alonso did accuse Renault of not favouring him, I really should be given an apology.

It will take more than a single season to resurrect a positive image as far as I'm concerned. If he went to Africa and spent his millions establishing orphanages and endowing AIDS treatment centres, I guess that might do it!

Send him back to Spain. He's loved there. Then, if another decent Spanish driver comes along and the people support him, he will say it's totally unfair that Spain is not being equal or making him number one because he brought Formula One to Spain and is therefore responsible for his career.

In all fairness, Alonso is a great driver - one of the best of the current crop. It is a shame that he could not be as good a person as he is a driver. Now I know that the EGO of all drivers is HUGE, but Fernandos ego is matched with an inability to accept that anyone can be as good as him - he falls into the pit of denial more than any other driver I can recall.

I don't think anybody will deny Alonso is a great driver. I don't think he is the fastest, however, he is intelligent, knows how to set the car up, and is a great overtaker. It's a shame he's such a twat.
