Instigated the pass... and avoided the collision. But he was ahead for a moment, so you could equally say Kubica instigated the 2nd pass (which was the re-pass).

He did avoid the collision, there was the space and Alonso decided to take it, unlike Vettel in Turkey who decided/realised he needed some more space that was taken up by Webber.

Spa has provided some clearup on car advantage...McLaren should be 'on it' in Monza.

And from there it depends on how quickly they have developed the diffuser.

If it's really true that RB and Ferrari don't have the flexi-wings anymore, or at least wings that don't flex so much then McLaren could really stay with them in races other than Singapore

But actually, Mclaren didnt really have that big superior race pace. Webber and Vettel had very good pace. The merc engines were fantastic... that was quite an unsurprising surprise......

Ferrari are in the worst shape of all, engine-wise. Alonso and Massa both ran their seventh engines today. The rumour is they will fit #8 for Monza. The likelihood of completing the six remaining races on one engine is very, VERY slim. The same can be said for their chances in the WDC/WCC.

Everyone else was on #6 today and have two new engines remaining save PDR and Rinnow. Poor PDR already is on #9. Kubica and Petrov both have three new engines remaining.

However, of the remaining races, only Abu Dhabi is likely to put extreme stress on an engine so two remaining new engines could be sufficient. One, OTOH, ....

They can still use the previous ones unless they are all blown off, which I don't think is the case.
They will just use a fresh engine for Monza and use used engines for Singapore, Brazil etc.

Obviously it's better to have used 6 engines rather than 7, but they can do it without any penalty unless things go wrong.
