I would say I agree with pretty much everything - with quite a bit of hope - except Monza.
I am not sure McLaren will be fast there.. they don't have the F-Duct advantage.. I don't know..

Also, for Spa I would say Ferrari/Red Bull.

Yes, i think the Fduct is not much of a factor. But with the merc engine and the Canada performance... even if their aero package is not the best, it should not make much of a difference, so Mclaren could be strong regardless. Plus they are also 'traditionally' good in Monza...

You're expecting Vettel to just drop away into the distance?

I'm expecting him to do quite well and likely take away the championship.

I'm expecting Vettel to carry on from where he left off before the break. Get most of the poles, win a couple of races and find a way to screw up the rest. He'll still get third overall, though.

It will be a dog fight with starts and 1st turn heroics being the deciding factors.
Ferrari will come with a bank roll of upgrades for the next two or three races.
If they produce wins, they will throw more into the car.
If they still chase RBR, they will focus on next year's design.
McLaren will most likely not compete for 1st places unless RBR and Ferrari take each other out; which will not happen.
I see Massa being the spoiler in all this.
He will be critical for Alonso to have any chance at grabbing the points lead.
If ALonso gets to 1st in the 1st turns, he can hold off RBR.
Massa needs to place in the top four for most of the remaining races.

Surely McLaren will be able to run with more rear downforce at Monza with their F-duct in effect nulling it down the straights?
Wouldn't this mean they would be more stable through the mid-speed corners and give them better traction out of some of the low/mid speed ones? Whilst not comprimising their straight line speed. I think they will be hard to beat at Monza and spa, provided the flexi-wing issue is looked at this weekend.

I think the cars will still be running their rear wings in Monza to handle the corners...as the track isn't one big straight or an oval. The F-duct will still be an advantage as long as downforce is required, and downforce IS required in Monza just substantially less compared to other circuits.

Also I believe this 4 week break would present a final 'push' for the 3 teams, we'd be able to judge better once Spa has passed. It's the ultimate testing ground for the rest of the season - long straights, high downforce corners, will be very interesting.

There will be really no need for an F-Duct in Monza because you would only activate it 3 or 4 times during a lap rather than almost every corner as it is in most of the other tracks.

For those saying they could use it to run higher downforce; WHAT FOR? All the cars are going to be running as little downforce as possible anyway, adding more downforce due to the F-Duct would just be counter productive because the F-Duct will most likely not be able to cancel out the extra downforce and lets not forget the profile of the F-Duct (as small as it is) will still have a negative effect on the cars straight line speed.

So Monza will be down to one of the Mercedes engined cars with great aero efficiency. May even be Force India!

Because it doesn't help at Monza.
On that track you're probably on full throttle for 3/4 of a lap; having the F-Duct gives you no advantage whatsoever, but it gives you a disadvantage because you must work your setup around it.

(The F-Duct gives you an advantage on the speed trap on a track with a good downforce level. The downforce level at Monza is about non-existent.)

Thanks for the clear up, well thats a bummer, we need as many Mclaren suited tracks as possible to have a chance ofwinning this year, unless of course, we have something special up our sleeves, i like how other then Red Bull, ImmortalDragon and F1ea have opted to put Ferrari in place in most tracks instead of Mclaren :D i think perhaps our personal preferences are starting to creep in...

Spa - Ferrari.

Monza - Mclaren/Ferrari.

Singapore - Red Bull.

Suzuka - Red Bull.

Korea - who knows... so Red Bull.

Brazil - Ferrari / Red Bull.

Abu Dhabi - Speed racer.

i say these predictions are porbaly going to be pretty accurate, but i also say this Mclaren dont be sacred of red bull or ferrari!, show championship winning courage and lets brings those titles back to woking where they belong!!

McLarens got Lewis Hamilton. Provide him a reliable package and he'll get the job done.

He'd still be leading the WDC by a good margin if not for their stupid reliability issues.

Could say the same about Redbull.
