Suzka 1990 Was again because the FISA leader intervined. Senna asked for Pole to be changed from the dirty side of the track to the racing line. FISA intialy agreed but Balstre (head of FISA) intervined and it was left on the dirty side of the track.

You don't know the back story your comparing Turkey 2010 to Suzka 1989 Senna was attempting an overtake on a corner he didn't just drive into his prost on the straight like vettle.

You say Senna was the driver behind, no in 1990 he had pole.

Not a chance.
Senna was surely on pole, but by the time him and Prost had reached turn 1, he was massively behind!
Image

So what? Was this 50/50 like Suzuka '89?
No way!
This was Senna's fault, and there's no way of getting out from this!
He drove straight into Prost, with no intention whatsoever to take the corner.

That to me is wrong and a bit arrogant. I still respect Senna, mind you.

@ racechick: I avoid to comment on Michael Schumacher. It would be pretty useless, because we would disagree at any time.
But let me ask you this: How come Alonso and Vettel are arrogant, but Senna wasn't? What's the difference? (especially between Vettel and him, as this topic should be about Vettel)

:imwithstupid:

In regards to Michael Schumacher - I might say the term "over-confidence" applies to him this year. Before I lose my ally in this thread, I can explain: Schumacher is used to winning, always being fast himself, and for most of his career being in the fastest car. Obviously he might have been expecting a lot more this season, but after aging a bit and being in a slower car it might take a season for him to get back into it. There is no point discrediting Schumacher this season, unless someone wants to forget what he's achieved from 1991-2006?

Did you forget? Ok here's a reminder: 91 Wins, 154 Podiums, 68 Pole Positions, 76 Fastest Laps....

And two 4th places this year is still pretty good for someone whose had a sabattical, is in a slower car, and is less fit. Watch out in Belgium. His first win was there in 1992, and he went on to win every Beligum GP he finished except in 2004, where he was 2nd. So I think he will finish third in Belgium GP 2010.

Vettel is fast, and he doesn't like it when he doesn't win. I'm a pretty quiet guy, but if I lose a game of FIFA you better leave the room or I will clobber you.... We all don't like it when we lose. :hehe:

Vettel had every reason to sulk after Hungary. He would have lapped everyone in that race with his sheer pace. Yet he admitted his mistake. Fernando Alonso, might have said something different.

I have to reply to someone else's post which I will paste into this comment....

yeah i agree with you to a point, but senna was just so irritated by what had gone on in that paticular race, he wanted revenge and he made sure he was going to get it by driving prost off at turn 1!!, and i must admit that im the same, if i lose at ALMOST anything, im like for f!'% sake!!

He could of secured two? sorry have i missed somthing is Brawn GP going to get banned and Vettle handed a championship?

Yeah, I said could, not should. He was clearly a better driver than Button last year, but what matters is who's in front at the end of the season, so congrats to Button on that one.

Right so could hamilton in 2007 if he hadn't had that mistake in china or the problem in Brazil. And he could of been chap again in 2009 if the car had been better and he could be champ this year so ham could be a 4 time world champ, only he isn't because he only finished ahead in the points in 2008 so he has one wdc.

Vettle has none. Could of, should of etc...its the points that count.

Sorry but thats just wrong Webber was the guy flying at hungary he was able to stay ahead even after the pit stop on old rubber.

Vettle stuggled to catch up with Alonso after the penalty and he couldn't overtake him when he got there.

Nein.
You cant say Webber was the only one flying just because he was when he was in clean air; because Vettel was doing the same when it was him in clean air. Vettel never struggled to catch alonso; he struggled to pass him, which happened to Webber as well.

The only reason Webber came ahead after his stop was because Vettel was doing Alonso's times, not his own. There was no way for Webber to pull a 20+sec gap to Vettel had he been ahead of Alonso.

I feel like I am stuck on a roundabout for eternity. We can go back and forth and still end back where we started! Vettel is a talented driver, he has raw talent, but needs to do some growing up mentally to fulfil his potential; he has been spoiled in many respects, not too many drivers get into a top car within a season or two and I believe that I has gone to his head somewhat and his attitude during the race and after the race shows that, he'll calm down with experience and almost certainly will become WDC!

Within 3 seasons!

And like I will keep pointing out until my grave, Vettel proved his worth in a Torro Rosso, so he deserved to be in the team where he is now. And he was not a Red Bull prodigy - he was a BMW boy but Red Bull saw his talent so signed him into their ranks.

Goodness me, where would he be now if he stayed with BMW?

And we all accept he makes a few errors...

Vettel's been annoying some people for a long time. Webber on Vettel, 2007:

“It’s kids isn’t it... kids with not enough experience – they do a good job and then they fu*k it all up.”

Every time i see this thread i feel like saying "no, but you are".

I dont think Vettel needs to "calm down" because his fiery behavior is what makes him an interesting character. If he looses that fire there is no point in him racing, he races because he wants to win and to show he is the best. Alonso is the same and so is Lewis. Thats what makes them such great drivers and im sure after Vettel gets some wins under his belt he will start to make less silly mistakes and focus more on strategizing for his race.

He doesn't seem to have a lot of "fire" on track though

Just wait, I can bet you the notorious Vettel Basher (not naming any names but the person is quite famous on this forum and has a strong love for LH) will come along and call it Confidence.
